As always, this is dependent upon your local store but in the past they have had sought-after vintages of some wines for peanuts. I picked up the Les Quatres Seigneurs CdP 2014 for £6.02, at Christmas this was £9.99, but they had others with approximately 1/3rd off.
If you have an NUS Extra Card then of course you get an extra 10% off...might go back tomorrow :)

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
Anyhoo - this is real - went in again yesterday and they had Bollinger for £22.50 down from £45, and Piper Heidseck (the red label) for £15...I was served by the manager and she said they had cases of it out the back that hadn't shifted over Christmas...fill your boots/glasses

Yes because someone who has posted 2 deals in 9 years is bound to be telling the truth. Went on the Co-op wild wine goose chase and didn't find anything good. This was 12 stores over a 50 mile radius while I was driving past.Good luck everyone.
I did find a bottle of grange in tesco's a couple of years back for £100.10. Why the 10p on the end I'll never know. I bought it and it's still yet to be drunk (dreading the disappointment if it's not that good).

Our local Co-op is full of Asda quality products at Waitrose prices. They probably have to as they are smaller 'convenience stores' but they are still dreadful.

I think my store ran out :disappointed:

Went back and got another few bottles, at this price it was rude not to! What was weird was that there are 2 co-ops nearby, the closest doesn't have anything reduced whereas the other has a whole shelf unit devoted to clearance wines.

Knock 1/3 off Co-op prices and it's still expensive!

maybe a year or 2 ago, but look at their prices now - much more reasonable for a local neighbourhood store

Managed to bag 5 bottles of Chateaneuf-du-Pape at £6.02 a bottle (first two stores cleared out but success on the third). Thanks op

Penfold wine ??... Did he buy this to drink with danger mouse??. I thought it was a kids show

Ahhhh, but that was an 80's kids TV show (at least, until the pesky PC reboot)...I'd be surprised if there wasn't drinking and smoking glorified in it
I know there was some doubt as to whether or not the 2nd was genuine, but based on the thread a year later I'm inclined to believe them.

Penfolds is decent but £180 to £300 a bottle in your local supermarket, you sure??

I wouldn't say getting a £9 bottle of wine for £6 is getting it for peanuts

No neither would I, but if you search back a few years they were doing £180-£300 bottles of Penfolds for between £6.99 and £14...none near me unfortunately, but quite a few did find some.

Shame, my local store didn't have anything going on last night. The CdP was still 9.99 yesterday

Thanks, I was surprised at the price, even though I know some can be "variable". I also picked up a Riesling with some award stickers on reduced from £9.99 to £6.69 (although when I got it home I noticed that one of the "awards" was from the owner of the vineyard!!!).
Unfortunately I just got a mixed box through from Laithwaites so these might be going in storage for a while, I'm sure they'll keep though
