A word of advice if you buy one of these - don't use the cheap Chinese brushes. As Philips now press the toothbrush holder in on splines the cheap brushes fit too tight and pull the end off when you changes brushes.

The DiamondClean (and FlexCare Platinum) have the same 31,000 brushstrokes per minute as the HealthyWhite, and even the more basic EasyClean models. You're paying extra for more bells and whistles - the battery will still die after a few years and I'd imagine they all do the same job.
If you're strapped for cash, get the EasyClean. I went for the pink HealthyWhite at £25 a few weeks ago - my third, and my dentist definitely noticed the difference when I moved to sonic brushes!
As for the UV Sanitiser, I bought one for around a tenner when a seller on ebay had a batch. The jury is out as to whether they are actually beneficial.

I've had these since they were released many years ago. Never had any battery problems, and mine only need charging every few weeks.
However, the ultrasonic mechanism does fail. One time when my gf dropped my brush on the floor, and another two possibly whilst in checked luggage whilst flying, I don't know. They do last a couple of years though before I've had a mechanism fail.

How is it better at cleaning? It has the same 31,000 brush strokes as the lower models. The extra settings are just fewer strokes than that , not more.

Not sure, they have been nothing but great to me. They did however say I am a customer for 10 years and so on. So I guess maybe they bend the rules in some particular cases.
But that's fine, John Lewis will price match it 100%, maybe I was lucky. Go there.

Shame they don't have the remote timer that Oral-B has. I find that hugely useful in that I actually spend the full two minutes brushing rather than standing there thinking "30 seconds HAVE to be up by now, oh sod it, I'll move on".

The FlexCare Platinum and DiamondClean all have the same 31,000 brushstrokes per minute as the cheaper HealthyWhite and EasyClean models.
The DiamondClean has a "glass" that allows you to recharge your brush, and a travel charger with USB capability. It also has a travel case - though some variants of the HealthyWhite come with a case too (I tend not to use it anyway). It also comes with two brush heads - the pink HealthyWhite I got from Tesco for £25 recently only had one.
