That's the large jar. IMHO, the best instant coffee.

Love this.... Thanks for the heads up. The Sharwoods jars are half price at Tesco, so now that is a good excuse for me to go and get the coffee and the cooking sauce. :-)

Great price. CN decaf 100g is down to £2.50 at ASDA & Morrisons, but £3.90 Tesco.

Just buy Sainsburys's own brand 'gold roast' for £3. It's exactly the same coffee, in exactly the same jar from the same same factory (just without the fancy top, which you're paying a quid extra for).

Decent deal. Prefer Douwe Egberts dark roast personally, the number (4) :P

I was looking at reduced price CN in asda before I realised they were only 100g jars - marketing before taste !

Do people actually drink instant coffee? It tastes nothing like the proper stuff.

Do people actually ask silly questions?

Indeed. Maybe instant drinkers prefer the (entirely different) taste. Ever think of that?
In my view, you can't beat a cup of Jamaican blue mountain. But we keep a jar of instant in (this one actually) for times of laziness.

No, we tend to just buy it as a novelty ornament.
Do you mean to tell me that after all these years that I can actually use the contents of the ornament to make a refreshing hot beverage.

This or percol "black and beyond" are about the best 2 instants IMO.
I think anyone sane would prefer "real" coffee (though I'd consider the mugs paying £3-4 a cup from starbucks pretty silly too). When it's not possible, this (and the percol bnb I mentioned) are about the best substitute.
I'd suggest a cheap grinder, fresh beans and a cafetiere though for pretty good "real" coffee. Fresh beans and fresh grinds come before a decent pressure coffee maker.

Beautiful coffee. Love the smell every time I crack open the jar. Very good price.

I like Italian percolated coffee on the stove but I don't always want to go to the trouble. This is my preferred instant. I like fillet steak too but have just used minced steak to make a cottage pie...:innocent:
