Know what you are saying. I've got my wife a mains one now. Brilliant but every time she uses it the street lights noticeably dim...

Can these be used on other items than just cars?
My wife goes through loads of batteries and this may save money!
God knows what she does with them all?

It sounds like there is a problem with the car (alternator/short) which is draining it. Only other explanation would be that she is plugging some other device into the cigarette socket without the engine running which has a high drain on the battery.

Go to their main site ond enter your cars details.
The site has been updated since i ordered my battery and now shows the right battery for my car.
When it shows your battery take its measurements and see if this one will fit..
I've just checked and the deal battery tray size and its bigger than the one for my car but I'm sure I can sell it with £10 profit.

Could just buy a battery charger, a decent battery with a 5 year warranty or get the car fixed

The CCA on that battery is limp !
Checked, my 4 year old Exide battery (currently £62 del) is a 760 A CCA, versus 440A CCA on that one
(perhaps because its a much bigger battery though)
Who are "Giles Briggs"/ Battery Megastore ? Had dealings with Tanya Batteries myself ( an actual well known entity I got the above battery, so wouldn't tend to deal with other parties).
Plus a guarantee is only as good as the place you are buying it from, if they refuse, could be meaningless (plus you have to pay return postage, not cheap on a battery!).

Clearly not, hence your comment, on here, on a battery thread stating you have to buy a new battery every year.

Or maybe it's a car worth £1500 that I have already spent £300 a few years back on an electrician trying to work out where the problem was. And he couldn't work it out.
Now, spending £50-60 every year to live with the problem is the lesser of two evils (the other being more diagnosis work on a depreciating asset) is the choice I made. And this thread made me save around half of that.
So yeah, maybe I did think about it.

Good deal, sadly the "uk postage" and picture of the entire country is a little misleading as it excludes most postcodes north of Glasgow/Edinburgh. Last time I checked, Aberdeen was still part of the mainland. :disappointed:

These only fit some Mazda's or some old Jap cars around 1990's era.
Even if it does fit in your battery tray, you probably won't be able to clamp it down so next police check earns you a £100 fine as they class that as an electrical hazard.

Did your mechanic change the starter motor for a cheap Chinese like RTX ones eurocarparts sell? If so those starters are under specked and hence drain higher currents when starting. This results in knackering your battery quicker and when it does get a year old simply makes the car struggle to start.
I have fixed many customers cars by swapping out el cheapo starter for a branded one.
