The horizontal resolution is doubled and the vertical resolution is also doubled. Since both are doubled it is effectively 4x the resolution.

8ms is this really bad for console gaming?
bobo53 to snakeplisken
7 Feb 16#42
it is another way to mislead people, not that very technical my self but 8ms is measured as G to G (grey to grey) and in my opinion is got nothing to do with the real response of the screen which surely must be slow. Might still be wrong but nothing suggests that this tv is suitable for gaming in the way we mean.
rocktoons28 to snakeplisken
8 Feb 16#45
this should be fine for console gaming since console are locked to 30fps anyway, really isnt much difference between 8ms or 5ms/1ms monitors

LOL 1080p = 1920x1080 resolution x2 and you get 3840 x 2160 which is the resolution of 4k :stuck_out_tongue:

Somewhat bizarre comment that appears to not grasp the potentially huge difference between "quality" and the number of pixels !

not the 'real' 4k tv, technically they are 4k but not the real quality . they use rgbw instead e

The panel will be 60Hz native at the very least. If it has HDMI 2.0 it should do 4K @ 60Hz.
I'm 99% sure this is a Vestel, the Techwood I linked above will be exactly the same internally as this Bush if im right. Someone on there stated it will do at least 4:2:2.

Bush is a brand that Argos like to use. We have a bush tv but when you are using the menu the information shows it as a beko. Been happy with it for a couple of years.

6 Feb 161#21
its a 40" tv for 250 quid, cant complain too much about that. The tv will more than likely be a beko or vestel

why would you go for a 1080p when this has 2x more resolution this would most definitely have better picture quality than any 1080p tv you can buy at this price range.

5 Feb 16#16
Surely 4k tv would need so much bandwidth as to not be able to be streamed to by wi-fi ?
Not amazed by 4k tv , more impressed by 1080p OLED.
rocktoons28 to zzzz
5 Feb 16#19
depends i guess most laptop and pc will probably only stream full 1080p for wireless thats not bad, but if you want to take advantage of the 4k then hdmi 2.0 + a beasty graphics card would be needed to run this as a monitor
7800gtman to zzzz
5 Feb 16#20
netflix state you need 25 mb + to stream 4k. I get a solid 65 mb on my phone over wifi in most of my house so don't think wifi would be a problem unless your router is very old.
Doubt this supports the 4k codec Netflix uses though as it's a super budget make, better off going for a better 1080p model if this is your max budget...

or you could connect the pc via hdmi 2.0, if you want anything cheaper go for a full hd 1080p

5 Feb 16#12
Pg25 of manual makes some reference to pairing to the TV but a) I have no time to investigate b) a Vestel would need to be far cheaper than this for me to consider it and you'd be kneecapping yourself on the TV stand to benefit from 4k on 40" TV.
bobo53
5 Feb 16#11
worth to try and return, they say it is good as a monitor
bobo53
5 Feb 16#2
very first time ever they advertise a 4k tv capable as a monitor for pc use. Not sure what this means " Link to a laptop or PC to convert to a monitor via the built-in WiFi", can someone put some light in to it please? good price if it does 4-4-4 chroma @4K 60hz
rocktoons28 to bobo53
5 Feb 16#4
Think what they mean is that you can connect your pc/laptop via wi-fi by linking them using a program? works like a chromecast or something :innocent:
AndyRoyd to bobo53
5 Feb 16#10
Not aware of any Vestel that offers 4-4-4 chroma @4K 60hz and certainly not directly mentioned in this set's manual which has 36pgs to wade through for any wifi-monitor explanation, which will probably not be present.
rocktoons28
5 Feb 16#9
do some research as long as your pc/laptop/mobile phone is connected to the same wifi as the TV you can link them, if you've never used chromecast than I guess you wouldn't understand lol
bobo53
5 Feb 16#8
yes but it is talking about connecting the pc to the tv, cannot be wireless. Anyway, it is clear what it is written and if this tv does not do 4-4-4 chroma, they should get it back. They are clearly advertising to be as good as a monitor
rocktoons28
5 Feb 16#7
via wireless i have it on a normal smart tv i can connect my phone/laptop it works like chromecast, it basically streams what ever is in your screen to the TV via wifi :innocent:
