NEW BT CUSTOMERS ONLY
As of 21st cashback has decreased by £10, now £181.80

My Plusnet deal is ending, so just signed up for this today to activate on the 31st.

For 24 hours, TopCashback are giving £191.90 cashback for a 12 month TV, Broadband and Phone contract.

I have signed up for the following package:
- Unlimited standard broadband - £5/month
- Evening and Weekend Calls - free for 3 months (will cancel after this, or £3.20 a month if you decide to keep)
- TV YouView and AMC
- Line rental saver

Costs are:
Line Rental Saver £194.28
Delivery Charge £6.95
BT TV Activation charge £49.00
Monthly Unlimited Broadband £60.00

Total £310.23

Savings:
Top Cash Back -£191.90 (now £181.80)
Pre-paid Mastercard -£50.00 (must apply for this after your account is active)

Total -£241.90 (now £231.80)

Total after cashback and mastercard is £68.33 for 12 months. (now £78.43)

My cashback has tracked at £191.90, and I have set a reminder to claim the mastercard and cancel the phone package.

I also got a few BT payouts through Quidco, and other retailers

I've ALWAYS had every claim denied or stuck in limbo forever through TCB. Complete waste of time

Cashback is now payable on topcashback (dont check it often so can't tell when it happened)

So to confirm for future reference (based on lots of comments stating they feared the opposite), service went live on 7th March, and I've received the prepaid card within around 10 days of service going active, and received the topcashback within a month of it going active.

Thanks again

I'll check the T&C's shortly. EDIT appears to be 6 months.
I'm waiting as they can refuse the cashback after a different incentive has been paid. I know from experience they never do, but it is easier to chase the mastercard within its terms, than the TCB.
The PCB normally pays within 3 weeks of install, so only a week or so to go.

I wouldn't wait. Their terms say they can pull the offer at any time. I've been waiting nearly 3 months for cashback to be tracked let alone paid out.

Well, my BT activated on the 7th March so I applied for my £100 pre-paid card and it has turned up today  (I got an email from 'purecard' at the weekend which was confusing as it didn't mention 'BT', but it basically contains the activation code you need for the card)

Just need to wait for the cashback to drop through

When I did the research BT was still the cheapest for Fibre Broadband considering Money Supermarket £75 cashback still pays out.

The other option you could explore is Vodafone with 18 months (free for first 6 months + free Netlix for 6 months) contract and £100 quidco. Vodafone line rental is cheap £13.58 if paid 12 months in advance. Also if you are an existing Vodafone customer they will knock 5 quid off a month.

"Exclude Infinity" definitely added very recently. I have ordered yesterday and it was definitely not there that time..

23 Feb 16 #147
I am quite confused with the cashback exclusion (topcashback & quidco). The exclusion is quite cryptic I am interested in taking the Fibre broadband (aka infinity) and the exclusion states "Only available on copper/ADSL broadband, excludes fibre broadband sales." "Excludes Infinity" (Quidco)

http://www.topcashback.co.uk/bt_total_broadband/
http://www.quidco.com/bt-broadband/?st=bt&tr=108&fn=home&fr=multiple&si=56cc9ce5bd398&sv=4

I have read through several comments on this thread and it looks like some of you have signed up for 38 mbps package which means you have signed up for Fibre?? Is your cashback going to get declined and if yes then it maybe worth cancelling before its too late - given all the negative publicity of cashback getting declined. In my case I have been paid cashback 90% of the time with Quidco/Topcashback.

Just to add the cashback has now been significantly reduced - Quidco is offering £155 for "for new customer BT Broadband + BT Calls + BT TV + SIMO (Excludes Infinity)"

Took the plunge yesterday - moving from Plusnet who have been excellent and so its just for 12 months (cashback via Quidco).
BT are useless - amongst the many emails - they forgot to send a temporary password for BT ID. Quickly(ish) resolved via their online chat

The BT Sports app works very well through Chromecast (as most of you will know) but the big test is what it'll be like for big live games...

Just did via TCB and was confirmed within minutes as £225.75 cashback estimated in 7 weeks.
Plus did screen shots of £100 mastercard for BB plus further £30 giftcard for SIMO deal.
So in theory £355.75 back - believe it when I see it!
That was for Unlimited Infinity 1, Entainment plus TV, unlimited calls, plus medium SIMO.
I did have issues with TCB on vodaphone offer - didn't show at all and just cancelled order, so at least this BT one has shown up on my TCB earnings.
Have told Virgin again I'm off - last 2 years they have come back with even better deal and I cancelled BT. Will see what Virgin do - be brave and cancel. Once you say you've signed up to BT etc they work hard to get you to stay.
Good luck fellow dealers

I've given up on Topcashback too. I used them about a dozen times and only managed to get 1 £15 payout which was a promotional introductory offer and even that was a real faff. After that every single claim was rejected. I've had problems with Quidco too but at least it's usually very easy to sort out.
adamsko89
22 Feb 16 #142
No but everyone is saying that TCB don't pay out when they do. Don't think it's reaching to come to a conclusion that perhaps you're not going about it the right way or have something preventing it tracking if it's not worked 3 times in a row.

Is this a no-brainer? To save £200 I am thinking of changing to BT for 12 months from the excellent Plusnet. The "upto17Mbps" internet has been been excellent (speed and reliability). Will the BT connection be the same? (or can we expect problems early evening for example).

I have BT Infiity 2 fibre and also a fibre phone line. My street has BT fibre and virgin fibre. When I try and order sky, it says there is no fibre in my property. I even spoke to sky and they say I don't have fibre, when I tell them I am talking to them on my fibre phone line, I might as well be talking another language. No one can help, the 'let me ask my manager' bull, means I have to explain all over again etc etc, and BT offer me rubbish deals to stay with them. I am out of contract for BB now but seems I am stuck with BT. I don't want to go to virgin as I have sky and happy with that. Any suggestions anyone?

I've cancelled Plusnet and signed up, only problem I had was as I have BT Sport I had to cancel that and wait for it to finish before I can sign up for that part with BT. So I think I have to wait until next bill date.

Wether or not your cashback gets paid has little to do with TCB or quidco. They ultimately use the same system (affiliate network) which does the cookies, payments etc. Its down to the network and the merchant.

I often deal with the big providers of these services (Virgin, BT, Sky, Talktalk), speaking on behalf of service users. I have no axe to grind, but I can say that BT are by far the worst of these providers to deal with on every level.

Thanks for the warning, I suspected this was the case, which is why I have not contacted them about taking over the BT line that the previous owner used, in the house I have just bought.

Which provider is the LEAST WORSE in your experience

If you do answer, I hold you harmless for any advice/opinion, without let or hinderence, and all the other legal weasel words Lawyers just love.

I have a tendency to maybe try Plusnet, IF they use UK call centres, even though they are now owned by BT.

So long as they do not exclusively use foreign call centres.

Had so many bad experiences with the latter.

I dumped BT after a year as their broadband was constantly cutting out, upload speeds of 0.5mb was the norm. Copper wires were not designed for broadband use, no BT fibre optics in my street. So went with Virgin as I needed fast reliable speeds as I work from home. 150mb sworks well, more expensive, but worth it. Upload speeds are around 12mbs Plus I get BT sport on my virgin package.
golo83
21 Feb 16 #118
FYI if you cannot get fibre BB or your line cannot achieve a download speed of 5mb or more you wont get BTSport on BTTV (they'll only give you BT sport Lite online free). You'll have to pay £5pm for Web/App or SkyTV+Web/App.
I only found out after i ordered as my line speed is appalling so had to sign up for BT Sport pack on Sky+Online for an extra £5 a month.

TCB tracked at £222.20 in Dec and just got paid today!
Now submitted my claimed for prepaid mastercard and amazon vouchers.

I paid £250 upfront one off charges (line rental prepay, BT TV Starter activation + delivery)
Ongoing charges £18pm (£8 2GB mobile plan, £5 unlimited broadband + £5 BT sport/AMC on Sky/online)

All in it currently works out as £250 plus (£18x12m) less £222 tcb
= £244 for 12mths (£20pm) for Mobile, Landline, Broadband, BT TV Starter and BT sports+AMC on Sky&Online.

Fingers crossed I get £50 prepaid mastercard for BT broadband + £20 amazon vouchers for BT mobile which will make my total cost £174 (£14.5pm)

Problem solved. For some reason I was getting the restrictive options when I went through the first link on topcashback (for £181 cashback)

Looking to sort a deal out for my father- he loves his sport and wants the cricket but the Champions league is a major draw for him. I know for the cricket he will have to have sky - he is with sky ATM - however this seems the ideal deal to get him the champions league.
I don't know how BT broadcast is it a set top box plugged into the aerial? I saw in an earlier post on this thread someone refer to getting BT on Sky but the Cashback dropped - would it be better to go down the route of a separate box for sky and one for BT? At the end of December, I decided to switch to BT through Cashback to get all the advantages.....so the connection was due a month later on January 28th but nobody showed up...oops!!!...... contacted BT so many times, being passed on to different departments to be told I had to cancel my order and start again......then realised if I was to reapply on the phone with them I was going to lose all the goodies offered on line.....so I asked to stop the new order ....and reapply on line again.......to cut the story short .....I was told my first and third order were not active but the one, organised on the phone (which I verbally refused at the time) was active.....so after not getting a straightforward answer to my question '" will I get the advantages saw on line via cash back?" I decided to move on, cancel everything and go to sky with a very good deal too.
yes the deal could be very good and it was the incentive to try BT....just make sure they do not find excuses to cancel and restart an order for you!......It has been 15 days since I canceled everything and still the instalation equipment arrived a few days ago and still waiting for them to organise collection...so do not expect fast communication within the company ☺

'Good to know
Customers ordering BT Infinity who already have BT broadband (copper) are not regarded as new customers.
The rates above include a bonus relevant to your membership level - 5% for Plus members and 1% for classic
Cashback is paid for all customers purchasing a brand new package. Existing BT customers who regrade a current package will only be eligible for cashback on the new add-on element, if cashback is offered on the particular product at the time.
Customers that have existing BT line rental but Broadband from another provider are classed as new BT Broadband customers.'

That's strange. It is definitely coming up all fine on mine. It even lets me add the "Starter" TV pack on also for free. It is the exact package I have right now with BT also since I see no reason to pay for the higher package. May be worth clearing your cookies and trying again.

Under 'Starter', I get 3 options
1) up to 17mb, 10gb limit (£4.50)
2) up to 17mb, unlimited (£5)
3) up to 38mb, 40gb limit (£7.50)

Unsure how you aren't able to find it. It's the second package listed, directly under the standard broadband for £5. There are 3 listed under the unlimited, and another 4 listed lower down the page for limited. How many packages is it coming up for you once you've gone through the link? Seems strange if it isn't listing for you.

I can't see a way of getting the 38mb, with unlimited data. It's only offering me the option with the 40gb cap. Is it just me? Any suggestions?

If I go through the link on MSE, I get offered the unlimited option:

edit: doh! I wasn't looking beyond the 'starter' option - it's under "entertainment plus"- shame as it makes it more expensive than the MSE option

Upgrade your TCB account to Plus before buying this. It costs £5 for a year but the cashback bonus Plus gives you is more than £5 for this deal. It turns the £191.90 cashback into £199.

I went for the four package deal with £5 per month mobile phone SIM as I can get for £5 per month what O2 currently charge me £10 per month. Only really viable if you're on PAYG however. This increased my TCB to 236.25, which has since tracked. That extra £37 cashback plus the £20 Amazon voucher I can claim effectively means my monthly mobile bill has gone from £10 to £0.25!

I should add that the cashback amount given on the BT broadband page doesn't always list your account bonus (1% for free, 5% for Plus) which did confuse me as I was only expecting £225.75 to track.

Ive had loads of issues with TCB since. but got £220 for BT without issue and also claimed £150 Sainsbury card at the time. Service was rubbish and got out of contract with all the price rises around the 12 month point. Now ironically waiting on quidco for VM cash back but not looking very hopeful?

20 Feb 16 #72
Never had a problem with quidco. TCB decline cash back more often. You have no choice when they decline as answer always retailer rejected it. In my opinion, I think TCP rejecting random cash back purposely to boost their own income.

I learnt my lesson and always stick with quidco even cash back amount is bit less. You will be so upset when you are stuck with the contract without cash back.

My virgin contract finished last week. They are refusing to give same loyalty discount and asking to pay £25 for broadband online. Same time Three sent me letter to say my contract is going to cost double to £30 pm. So Bt infinity plus SIMO is turning out to be cheapest one at the moment after £190 quidco cashback, and £100 cashback for Broadband & additional £30 for Sim plus £5 Sim line rental discount, so £320 cashback in total for £37pm contract (incl. line rent) so I have to pay £10.33 Pm over 1 year for Broadband TV and phone....

Lovely, I went through the order process, clicked checkout and I'm presented with:

What a waste of time.

I signed up for a similar deal the other day - BT Infinty 2 - after Virgin increased my price by 50% and refuse to lower it. I've got £180 cashback from Quidco tracking and a £125 Mastercard to claim for after install. I didn't pre-pay line rental though so it ends up being about £450 for the year before cashback and the Mastercard. If all goes to plan though it'll work out at about £12 a month. Fingers crossed.

I had poor service from BT Infinity. Fast when working but often dropped out and thus all tv froze. Then even sent a packet for my set top box when I didn't renew contract.

I spoke with Virgin Customer Service this morning as I thought I was paying over the odds for my current package, particularly when my superhub 2 frequently drops out. I have been with them for years and was hoping to be offered something akin to the prices for a new customer which would have saved me around £20 per month if they'd agreed... Alas, they wouldn't really budge at all, so I asked for closure of the account... and they obliged, giving me a disconnection date in 1 months time.

I am now looking at BT Infinity 2 for the next 12 months and if Quidco and the Mastercard offer work out, there is a significant saving to be made. (I have given up on TCB, can't remember the last time they honoured anything unfortunately). Anyhow, this sounds like a decent deal to me. Hot.

Good luck with BT. Your post has motivated me to recover the balance of my money they hold. Their customer service is non existent and they are immune to complaints. Worse, when you have the inevitable problems, friends call into question your judgement for using BT, rather than question BT's service. Poor service and BT go hand in hand. Brings into sharp focus their advert to give people in the UK exactly what they deserve!

19 Feb 16 4 #43
Use BT at your peril! They wont turn up for installation appointments. Their (Indian call centre) Customer services is appalling, and your billing will be a complete mess. You get what you pay for! Which ranked them last in a list of BB providers. Be warned!!

My topcashback payout from BT has just been transferred by BACS and I received my PURE prepaid MasterCard this week too, signed up early January. Can't fault them really, once you offset that against your package it makes it very cheap.

TCB are rubbish for any cashback over £20, half a dozen times now they get refused and they offer no help whatsoever so only use it now for smaller transactions, I find Quidco way better and more helpful.

The you view box is a handy little box. Gives me a HD signal from aerial on an old tv and the HDD is silent and plenty of space. Customer service is appalling and my costs went up loads over the months. Extra for HD/ sport/ even basic to pack so take these prices with a pinch of salt.

I've been thinking of doing one of these cashback deals for BT, but a number of things have put me off.
Firstly, the amount of the pre-paid Mastercard seems to be totally random - loads of people say that they don't get the full amount, but what is the full amount? Is it actually specified somewhere which package entitles you to which value card? It just seems to say 'up to £125' or 'up to £100' on TCB. In theory they could give you a pound!
It's also rather odd that the customer feedback seems to vary so wildly - look at all the bad reviews on Quidco, then look at all the good ones on TCB. And yet the comments here seem to indicate that the opposite is true, and Quidco seems to be the more reliable when doing this deal.
The other problem i have is that i really don't understand which TV deal you get cashback for. All i want is the basic pack with AMC and Prem League footie - does that qualify for cashback? I've had a good look at it but i can't work it out. My brain ain't what it used to be...
Coreydeals to dealpickle
19 Feb 16 1 #39
I think they've indicated up to on topcashback since it varies which package you choose. We got the exact amount which was indicated on our package when we claimed. No problems there, and cashback was paid fine and when expected. Customer service does seem to vary from what I've seen. I've never had a problem. The cashback for the TV is on any package. We took the free package since freeview is more than enough for us, so that should be fine. Hope this helps a little.

Only ever had one big problem with Topcashback. A £50 cashback from August 2012 didn't come through ... until a couple of weeks ago when £49 suddenly appeared in my account! The £150+ BT and Sky ones have gone through without a hitch.

BT on the other hand are a nightmare. They changed my contract half way through and started charging me more, charged me an early termination fee for terminating at the end of my contract, and then continued to charge the monthly fee for the account they were charging me for terminating early! I did get all *my* money back, eventually, but only through persistence and threatening them with the ombudsman.

Many customers find that they don't receive the MasterCard. They are often lied to by customer services with promises that the card will be delivered in the next 15 days, it never turns up. Just look at the BT forums it's just complaint after complaint with regard to vouchers etc not turning up.

Quidco has always paid out for me.

God help you if you ever have the need to contact BTs so called "customer services".

They also have lost the Fox channel which will disappear at the end of the month, along with me as I need my fix of zombies.

Nice. I took a similar deal last month but I had the fibre BB and (no tv as we don't have an aerial and use freesat). I just received my £100 mastercard (I applied for it on the 6th) and my £111 TCB money is showing as confirmed. Pretty happy with that.

Quidco cashback experiences, mostly perfect. With BT the only time it won't happen is if you have an issue online & need to then sort it out via phone. I had a BT line but I wasn't with BT for broadband. When I tried to order infinity online it just wouldn't work. so I had to order normal broadband & then order infinity after.

Very was an annoying example recently. Ordered an iPhone 6S 64gb after seeing the cashback mentioned on here. Very just said that it didn't follow their T&C's. I don't think Quidco was too happy as they offered me £20 as a goodwill gesture (The cashback was meant to be £50)

I went for a similar deal in October. Just hope that you don't have any issues as BT customer service are a joke. Firstly - why should you have to apply for the Mastercard? Then, once you do (in my case) they make you have the card delivered to the broadband install address. I kept telling BT that I am hardly ever there and requested it be sent to my primary address. In any case BT didn't send it within the 30 days they said they would. Then they said they'd looked into it and to wait another 45 days. It never turned up (which wasn't surprising as the address they made me register my broadband to didn't physically exist). They said they would send out another (as eventually the post office had returned it undeliverable) to the same address!!!! They couldn't send it out to my primary address. "So you've had one card returned, I've told you the address doesn't exist and yet you insist on sending it to the same address?". "Yes" said BT. Marvellous.

On top of that I was getting broadband dropouts. The first call to BT I was told it was because I had a new line and it needed to settle down - and they would do a line clean to help it on its way. The second time I was told it was because I needed a new router. I still get dropouts.

Still - I got my Quidco

Just gone for this, although I spent a bit more - 7.50 a month to get "40meg" fibre and the 2.50 a month for the small "premium channels" package. A tenner a month will go almost unnoticed, being able to get the line rental out of the way at the beginning is nice.
