It's very similar to The Big Bang Theory. You'd love it.

It's one of the best, if not the best shows I've ever seen. The last thing you want is spoilers. It's very clever, well acted and an amazing storyline

I've not risked getting this on blu ray after reading reviews of a few saying some discs don't work so sounds as if there a lot of defect copies.

I watched this first time a couple of years ago and found it one of the best shows i'd seen. The humour is dark, almost black in places. It's a different show to GOT and BBT and can be a slow burner story wise in places where i think it gets it 'overrated' tag from some quarters. I'd much rather watch this (and have started again, Episode 2 is still one of my faves) than some of the attention grabbing, quick fix TV that's around.
Enjoy!

BBT is OK, I'm quite sick of it now, it's always on when I go round to a couple of people's houses that I know, I've seen the repeats ad nauseam. BBT to me is like putting on the radio and using it as background noise, I don't dislike it, just I have no interest in it.
I can't comment on Breaking Bad as I almost never watch any TV series. The only one I can think I've watched fully in the last 15-20 years is Mr Robot, so I don't have a clue about most TV shows people talk about. I've not seen all episodes of BBT but to me it started off as a niche, got popular and now is in decline.

Disc quality is the biggest issue bought this a few times on blu ray and returned due to skipping and duff sound quality, which is a shame as this is definitely up there with the likes of the walking dead,

I had it on Blu ray before (this version) and no problems with it. I did have a few issues with UV copies though, basically it's a right pain to set up, and I believe on some devices one of the middle episodes was missing or something.
Anyhow the good thing is now you can stream your UV copy through Blinkbox, etc and I have all my episodes on there and all seems fine to me.
I purchased the boxset again a couple of months ago when Amazon had a deal but havent watched the discs (nice to just have a physical copy of my fave show).

Great price for a great show. I think it looses it a bit towards the end but otherwise fantastic. The Episode with the Bee is my favourite.....
IMHO Breaking Bad started great, lost it's way a little in the middle (I loved all the characters with the exception of Walter's wife, she really grated on me) but then built to a great conclusion. All in all, one of the best shows to grace the telly, and the spin off "Better Call Saul" is great too.

After years of people going all "Shawshank" and praising it as the best thing ever, I have just finished watching all the way through for the first time last night. Problem with all the hype is no matter how good a show actually is, it rarely lives up to it.
Great acting, good stories, well filmed but for me too many irritating sillinesses where people say stupid things and a slight change of wording would have avoided the inevitable subsequent events. Maybe this is deliberate by the writers but it often felt a bit like situations were "forced" to occur.
Well worth a watch but I personally can't ever see myself sitting through it all again, whereas other shows have far more repeatability for me, like Game of Thrones, Dexter or The West Wing.
That all said, it's ending beats Dexter into the ground. Dexter has truly the worst finale I have ever had the misfortune to see.

if your going down the legally dubious route, why not just shoplift it and you then get to keep it and watch it whenever. win win, better than kodi.

This is a great show, but why bother ponying up £30 for it? Are you really gonna watch it again and again? You'd be better off getting 6mths of Netflix for the same price, Breaking Bad is on there and that's plenty of time to watch the whole thing and many more films and shows besides.

Anyone who thought Breaking Bad was on another level compared with most TV shows (myself included) should try True Detective!!

It's good (and so is True Detective), no doubt, but there are plenty of others that compare well. Deadwood, Game of Thrones, Hannibal, Sopranos, In Treatment, The Wire, The Killing S1 to name a few.

Anyone else with the Blu-ray boxset find that the discs take an absurd amount of time to load on your player? I've tried on both my PS3 and PS4 and they take a few minutes to become playable. It's totally put me off watching it, having to endure that wait every damn time.
