Price is low for a reason. NiCad battery is obsolete and real pain in the...
I have this drill and use from time to time as secondary, but I strongly recommend drill with Li ion battery

I was going to pop that question. Thanks for answering. I don't use them much so I know battery will die on me. I just forgot which type of better to avoid.

I'll be needing a drill to put up a few curtain poles, blinds, pictures and coat hooks in our new house. Probably knocking together a load of ikea furniture too, but have always done it manually in the past. Is this sort of thing appropriate or is something cheaper/pricier a better option? I have NO DIY experience so will be relying on youtube videos to learn

Cold. No point buying anything lower than 18v or it won't last 5 minutes

It seems there will be more deals like this before the ban on NICD batteries comes in on the 31st December 2016

Looks like a bargain but in my experience nicad batteries run down quickly when left. Then you have to remember to charge it before you need it. My current li-ion Bosch is always ready for use no matter how long I leave it. Very handy. But of course you'd never get one anywhere near this price. Pays your money, take your choice ...

Reserved one at My local, got a call this morning about glitch in the system and item actually not in stock etc but the guy over the phone was very nice, he called other stores around and reserved one for me at another store about 15 miles. Picked up later in the afternoon, well worth the £19.99 spent.

At Lidl they have now on offer 18V Li ion hammer drill for £40. I know they ask twice as much as for this Bosch, but I think it is a very good value for money.
