Complete waste of time !
I own 2 of these myself but the double sockets which obviously makes no difference to the usb sockets.
Each usb socket is 1 amp ?
Seriously it takes 3-4 times longer to charge than using a plug in usb charger.
My 2 daughters loved the idea at first to charge their iphone 5's but soon went back to using their original chargers after a couple of days .
Do not waste your money on these !

It's the latest gadget, to replace the gadget we already use quite happily.

I don't know why you are mentioning the 3 pin sockets...
The usb socket will charge at 2 amp if the other one is not being used.
I have other electricals that use usb but they are not used all the time. When they are not being used your device will charge at full power.

Bought one of these the other day when it first dropped. Very happy with it. Charging time on a single cable seems similar to my ipad charger.
If I was nit-picking it doesn't look quite as "clean" as in the pictures - there aren't any covers for the screw holes like it appears in the pictures.

So, please explain the relationship between the USB sockets and the 13A three pin sockets. How does not using your kitchen electrical appliances improve the charging of your gadgets?

Implying that using the socket will impact charge speed, no, you clearly don't.

I clearly do as they've charged my gadgets perfectly for over a year now.

2.1A shared output so should charge at full current using one port.
Will charge at 1A if both ports are used assuming both devices draw equal current.
Were yours LAP brand? They are normally ok.

You must have a VERY busy home!
I've got a few of the double ones now and have no problems at all. I dont have my kitchen electrical appliances on at the same time so no problems with charging speed.
I've got 4 doubles in my kitchen and the TV is on the most leaving the others free.

If you are going to leave your phone on charge for the night or while you are sleeping it's worth it. if you want fast charge then it's not for you.

Agreed here, I have just replaced a single socket with a four lead extension plugged into it with a double sockect with two USB ports, Not only does it look a lot neater, but it does the job, my phone chargers over night, like normal

We have the double version. Charges an iPhone 5 no problem but my old 3GS won't charge at all. I'd still recommend it over a standard socket

I got a double last week but not fit yet for the kitchen to save socket point. Best toy I have is the Anker chargers 5 way 2amp available on each port, also have a 12v version for van running dashcam/tomtom and charging mifi unit on the move also had a ipad mini all at once and all seemed to run and charge ok. around £15 on amazon

Here is an example of their uselessness !
I have 10,000 ma mobile battery thingy ?
Using my standard 2A samsung charger i can fully charge it from completely flat in approximately 4 hours ?
Using the LAP usb socket after 20 hours its still not 100% charged ?

Yes LAP from screwfix ?

I find if you have 2 usb sockets charging it's a bit slow as 1amp per socket. Unplugging 1 makes no difference, but if you start with just 1 usb devices then it's a lot faster. I think the socket won't change amps while charging a device. Using 1 only from the start will give you 2.1amp which will charge faster. I have the lap socket however I guess this one is the same so plan to pick one up. Heat
