Categorically IS WORKING as at 12.35am 16th February. Try creating an account on the site first, then add offer items. The discount only applies when you have an EVEN number of items in your basket. Perhaps add the two items I just did to your basket, and see if you can get that to work as a starting point.

It does work, it just takes a very long time. If you sit there and press refresh again and again and again it eventually works. It took me about 20 minutes of refreshing, but it's ordered now

May be obvious, but given that the hoodies haven't been listed under the banner for several hours and suggesting they have been added to the basket doesn't make sense at this time.

At this point, I would just suggest calling them in the morning. Sorry, not overly helpful I know, but given the reported problems with their website...

Oh dear, it's all gone boobs up for me. Website was charging full price so I contacted customer services. They asked me to pay via Paypal and said they would refund the difference. So I paid via Paypal and someone in the background told the lady that if she cancelled the order it would then go through OK. It didn't. Tried to re-order again and everything was out of stock and my bank is £64 down till I get a refund! Boo.

If anyone is wondering (like me) why some orders are released for delivery while others are still in progress, it is apparently down to the original order value (before discount). All orders over X amount have to be manually authorised.

Slightly annoyed at the BBC. I ordered a Peppa pig DVD for my daughter and a Top gear top for my husband. I received an email an hour ago saying that the DVD is out of stock and will not be coming back into stock so therefore has been cancelled. I noticed the T-shirt had already been released for delivery. I rang up customer services for information about the other item. Because one was cancelled will I now have to pay full price for it - as it's no longer 2 for £5? I was informed that items are now being treated as being worth £2.50 each so I will only be charged £2.50.
However, I finally was able to log into my BBC shop account and noticed that it stated it had indeed been cancelled - but I was being charged £3.81 for the tshirt, and not £2.50. I rang again, got through to the same moron who knew absolutely nothing! Said that I had to wait till it had been dispatched, the money gone out of my account, then they can manually refund me the difference, if I ring them up again.
I really can't be bothered to do that for such a small sum. But do keep an eye on your accounts if you have cancellations and keep a look out for items charged at more than promised price.

My orders have still not been dispatched (one was released for delivery yesterday!!) - people who ordered after me seem to have had dispatch emails (I assume they ordered after me as they were too late for hoodies but I ordered two). I really do doubt I am going to get anything at all and BBC are lying by saying they are doing them in strict order of when ordered!! Hey ho, was worth a try.......

And the fact that they are adamant they are processing them in order is just frustrating! I'll see what happens tomorrow but they could be in for an angry email lol. I know it's luck of the draw on HUKD but it's the way that the BBC are handling the orders that seems wrong to me.

I totally agree, the way they are doing the orders is all over the place. If I get a cancellation email tomorrow I will be contacting them (not that it will do me much good). If they lie to me, that's when they really cross the line.

Aye, I agree. They've already lied to me - girl this morning said she would "push the order on" - when I spoke to someone else later she said there is no way they can do that!!

They will say what ever it takes to get you off the line. Unfortunately for them online sites such as HUKD (where customers can find out what's going on) it's harder for their lies to stick.

I placed three orders on Monday and today received confirmation of dispatch for one: the one where they'd cancelled the hoodie. This means one t-shirt is on the way, but several more and mug are yet to be dispatched.

I also received an e-mail from them explaining "Orders were processed in order of receipt", which in light of all the other comments here seems doubtful.

Mine still saying released for delivery and my order number starts exactly the same as yours and I refreshed the hotukdeals page and it was next one up, so I ordered within minutes of the deal being posted.

In fairness to the BBC Shop Team, I received my order yesterday - very well packed in a large box (before anyone whines, it was only 4 hoodies and 2 T-shirts for myself and family)

The Sherlock hoodies are great considering they were only £2.50, but IMHO not worth £32 each (the fabric isn't that "soft" if that makes any sense? - although they may soften once washed) The BBC Sport hoodies (zip up front) are a bit on the thin side materialwise, and the T-shirts are fine.

Definitely brilliant value given the low £2.50 per item sale price, but IMHO the "normal" retail price is a bit of a peace take (unless you are a serious fan, and used to paying top whack for merchandise)

It is also worth noting the hoodies were NEVER intended to be included in the "2 items for £5" promo in the first place. Someone accidentally included them when they were putting all the T-shirts into the sale. Since some customers immediately added them to their shopping baskets, the BBC shop staff were going to let a few hoodie orders slip through and then correct the mistake later that evening when their site was quieter. Unfortunately (for them!) the deal was posted here within a few minutes, resulting in their website going into meltdown as people went into hoodie heaven!

They COULD have just cancelled all the hoodie orders, but they instead did the DECENT thing and honoured the £2.50 sale price. In contrast, complete currents like Sainsburys would have just cancelled the orders.

If the hoodies are in stock, why did they cancel the one hoodie I ordered for £2.50 on the Monday? I ordered early in response to the e-mail I got from them: nothing to do with seeing it here.

In light of what cb-uk wrote, I have now replied to the customer service person who said my order for a Sherlock hoodie was cancelled because it was out of stock saying "This is not a convincing explanation as the hoodie is still shown as in stock on your website. I would be grateful if you could honour my order or give the real explanation." I have included a link to the hoodie. :smile:

Did you speak to someone at BBC Shop who told you this was an error? Not doubting your knowledge but I spoke to them 3 days ago and they didn't mention it then. At least they can't cancel orders and tell us they don't have stock if they are selling them on ebay I guess :wink: mind you before this offer appeared on here , I bet none of us knew how desperately we needed Sherlock Hoodies etc <3

Just spoke to BBC Shop as I had made an error on my first order and they had cancelled it for me by phone, however my paypal account hadn't been re credited. They are trying to sort that out, but I also asked about delivery times, he said they are aiming to clear outstanding orders by tomorrow evening, if not they are talking about asking staff to go in on Saturday which they don't usually do. I know there has been some conflicting info via phone calls so just letting you know what I have been told tonight.

BBC have cancelled my hoodies - 4 days after I ordered them! So, despite assuring me they were dispatching by order number, it means someone could order after me, pay express delivery and get the hoodies I had reserved. Even the staff at CS have admitted this probably happened. Seems like a bit of a farcical way to run a company lol. Oh, and my second order, for 4 t shirts, ordered minutes after this one, was dispatched two days ago so I know for a fact they didn't go by order number lol.

I'm pretty sure orders are not being despatched in the order they were received as I've only received one despatch email and that was my second to last order. I also received an email saying 1 of my items on another order is OOS. I'm hoping that is the only one.

just got my dispatch email for 2 t-shirts (order 3835xxx) took abt 5days but least it's on its way.

So I got an email saying that one of the items is out of stock and not coming back thus it's cancelled, no mention of what's happening with the rest of the order, no dispatch emails but online it says that all the items have been released for delivery including the OOS item? No tracking numbers though so sounds about as messy as I expected from BBC shop heh.

Had an email too saying that the Large hoodies have been cancelled as no stock available. The other 2 orders of mine still showing as being released for delivery.

My order number is 38326XX and still hasn't been despatched. I ordered mid afternoon on Monday, paid by paypal and the money has left my account. I rang yesterday for an update and was told there were delays and they had no idea how long it would be before my items were sent out. I didn't even order hoodies! :disappointed:

I ordered two T shirts on my first order and a further two T shirts on a second order (all 4 for me) and both are now dispatched. One yesterday and the second order today

I was on HUKD when Brian originally posted the deal, and put my order in within the first 10 minutes or so (and at least 20-30 minutes before the Dr Who hoodies went out of stock) so we probably ordered at around the same time Jules.

I paid for the express delivery because no one with a brain cell would honestly expect the BBC to be selling a £32 hoodie for £2.50 including postage - given they had sole copyright on the design, and were still selling it on eBay for £32! (plus, you can't even buy a generic unprinted hoodie for £2.50)

Neither did I take the p1.ss and place a huge order to resell on eBay, thus ruining the deal for everyone else. As you can see from the order confirmation posted earlier, I placed a sensible order of just 4 hoodies and 2 T-shirts. It would be interesting to see if anyone else managed to get a hoodie order dispatched.

With these kinds of deals, it's all pot luck I'm afraid. I lost out on the Sainsburys hard drive deal last week, but managed to score on this one. Most regular HUKD members have similar experiences, and there's no point getting stressed out over it.

If anyone is to blame, it's the muppets who order ridiculous quantities to resell on eBay - as this either wipes out all the available stock, or puts up a huge flag to the store's e-commerce team that something is seriously wrong.

The BBC Shop could have taken the easy option and mass-cancelled orders. But it seems they have done the decent thing and honoured the misprices - although, as I mentioned above, it will be quite interesting to see how many other people actually received hoodies (i.e. did they totally sell out, or did they decide they were losing too much money and cancel hoodie orders after the first batch had slipped through?)

If it makes anyone feel better or worse, I'm still awaiting the despatch of my two hoodies and two t-shirts for £10. I paid by PayPal, linked to my Amex card, placing one of the earliest orders of the deal :confused:

Just had a call back from a BBC manager to advise that their system really couldn't cope with the number of orders it received lol. They have no answer as to why orders weren't dispatched in any sort of order, they apologised and said they will be having a debrief about it (think they need it!!). As to why people who ordered later got goods that those of us who ordered earlier, didn't? Again, no real answer. Maybe they need to get some answers out of their debrief to ensure this sort of fiasco doesn't happen again. They hadn't even refunded me apparently (even tho they told me last week the stuff was cancelled), but she did it while I was on the phone so keep an eye on your paypal accounts people to make sure you DO get the refund.
Incidentally, just received second order which was dispatched last Tuesday.

Anybody still have no dispatch/ cancellation email, I know at this point I should expect the worst but I would just like a confirmation :/

I got dispatch notifications for 2 of my 3 outstanding orders this morning so it is looking very promising: no further cancellations of items! The only other order I placed a week ago I'm waiting to hear about is a mug.

I am still awaiting any form of communication - i only ordered a t-shirt and mug as gifts. It states on my account that the items are Released for Delivery, but i havent heard anything more. I would give them a call, but i presume alot of people are also in this position... has anyone heard anything recently?

My first order arrived today, including the hoody they had cancelled and refunded, and which they were adamant in subsequent correspondence was out of stock. Suggests the issue was wrongly including the hoodie in the sale rather than stock / website issues.

My kids love Doctor Who and Sherlock. Just an observation, the BBC hoody, which I bought as it was a zip-up( have got a kid who won't wear over-the -head hoodies ) looks to be small for size. Therefore can't complain apart from the wrongly sent cancellation and subsequent discussion with customer services, which was a total waste of time. Mine arrived today, three Sherlock hoodies and a stig t shirt. We ordered mediums , son is 16yrs , me and daughter size 10's and these were a good fit for us . Dispatch date was 20th Feb, but as that was a saturday then only took 4 working days.

It's an omnishambles ! I ordered 4 t shirts - all got released, then 1 was OOS, then all were dispatched, then refunds for 3 and the one that's possibly still winging it's way to me I ordered pink and blue is coming ! Sounds like this on line shop is being run with chewing gum and string by one person who's an intern. Assuming this is some outsourced deal by the Beeb they should go elsewhere 'Fire the bleedin lot of you - you're a disgrace' to quote one well known Apprentice star !
