just booted this up the other day and the servers were very active, loads of full 32 player games going in both conquest and rush modes. still my favorite battlefield game for multiplayer.

One of the best online multiplayer FPS games of all time imo. Can't think of a game with better destruction physics.

The bigger question is why did you search for a stranger on battlelog? Just to post that comment?
OT: Is the deluxe edition worth the extra, even so long after the game came out?

Anyone know if this supports XBOX or PS3 controllers on PC?

Even if you can (there is key mapping), you'll get pummelled using a controller on this. There is no aim-assist like consoles have and the analogue movement would be too slow. You need the speed and accuracy of a mouse.

i'd like to know this also...
There are lots of reasons why one would want to use a controller and no one should have to justify a valid question
Don't remember asking him to justify his question, it was a simple warning. Playing a online PC FPS using a joypad/controller will put you at a massive disadvantage to other players - its fact.
PC FPS games do not have the same aids for the limitations of a joypad that are programmed into the console versions.
For example:
Shooting at long range where the target is extremely small. On a console the weapon aimer will 'jump' to the target (aim assist), on a PC using an analogue stick you may find it keeps jumping too far on way and then the other, as you try to correct. An analogue stick lacks the precision of a mouse.
Even simply having to turn around and target quickly, a mouse is far quicker than an analogue stick.
On 1 player its not such a big deal, but online (where this game really shines) you will notice it pretty quickly. The battles on this game are fast paced.

Thanks @Gordon Bell, ive heard that loads of times. Im currently playing Black Ops on the Mac using a PS3 controller (not the mapped keys method) and it works flawlessly as it has native controller support, havent had a problem yet. But I do understand that mouse people will most likely beat people playing with controllers (using mapped keys)
For a competitive game like Black Ops, mapped keys method is definitely a terrible idea, but for games like Dont Starve or This War of Mine, I dont see a problem with mapped keys
Game has 3 columns for keymapping: Keys, mouse and Joystick
However, I could not get the right analogue to register in the games keymapping. When I played the 1 player, the left stick seemed ok in the intro (looking around on the boat), but without a 2nd stick its pointless. I never checked any further.
This could be down to me not installing the PS3 controller correctly (this is the first time), but windows recognised both analogue sticks when I checked Devices. I would usually use Xbox controllers on PC, as they are effortless to install but they are not handy at moment.
I'm aware there is another driver motioninhoy, but I have not tried it.
When you say "them" ... I presume you also mean BF3 which shows 86 hours logged. At the end of the day for me (and I presume the 13 likes from other HUKD members) BF2 is the better game.

How does orgin work? do u own ur games like steam?
Gordon Bell to alibokhariabbas

Its just EA equivalent to steam - just a little more primitive. Origins auto updating constantly fails for me, but you can simply download the new version. Yes, you own the game. EA Access is where you rent the games.

had a great time playing this last night, and the Vietnam expansion is a nice touch I was unaware of this when I used to play on the 360. bf4 def slicker and better for soldier movement, but still brilliant

I preferred BFBC2 on the xbox to BF3, but have moved back to pc as I like the keyboard/mouse combination. Just a shame the amount of cheaters these days.

it doesn't mention controller on the spec page
not ideal but
key mapping is possible with most games using antimicro open-source software

I usually use the filters to exclude:
Hardcore - you can shoot team mates.
Empty - Remove empty servers from search
Totally agree with this guys video. I prefer this to BF3 and BF4.
