I work in store too, but they are not normally 50p, i work behind the same counter as bakery on the pizzas, they are normally around £1 from memory.

That's what I thought - they've been this price forever..I can't remember the last time I paid more than 50p for them?

Checked the ones in my local asda the other week. All solid as rocks, needs a good doughy centre to be a proper American style cookie. These are just big biscuits. Not to my taste unfortunately. D:

True. ASDA baking is below subpar

Then your store presumably just overcooked them.
They've been this price for at least several weeks now (though still listed as 98p in my local store - the actual packet itself says 50p) so I've bought/eaten more than I'd care to admit, and all but one batch has been soft and chewy. One batch was hard as you described, then when I got more a few days later they were soft and chewy again.

Know what you mean but I zap em in the microwave for a few seconds which soon gets em deliciously warm & gooey..!

Do they not have bakeries in your country?
229mel
16 Feb 16#34
No I come from different country where people aren't as unhealthy as they are here..your ''cooking'' habits are the ones to blame for that... Just saying that putting in a ready-made meal in to oven doesn't really counts as cooking it!
229mel
16 Feb 16#21
''baking'' for you people in UK actually means that, placing an already prepared ready-meal in oven/microwave and ''cooking'' it, and you have the rights to call as you have baked it yourself.. In other countries you would get laughed at for being miserable and unable to cook from scratch. Pathetic....

They'd get laughed at for being unable to cook from scratch in this country too. Not that I know anyone who non-sarcastically refers to cooking a ready meal as "home baking"...
EDIT: Ah, I see 229mel is just a vitriolic, unwelcome immigrant. A real shame as it's people like them that provide cannon-fodder to the millions of racists and xenophobes we have in this country (who, somewhat ironically, they are in the same category as!) making life difficult for the millions of perfectly pleasant immigrants we have.

Where did that childish remark come from ?
In fact I have baked these cookies myself, I searched for the recipe, they lasted all of 5 mins, yummy if I do say so myself.

So, in translation, you are saying "I used to be a bit hefty, but then I went on a diet and now everything I say about diets is gospel, and I have the right to criticise people's cooking habits, weight, etc"

The 6 stores I've been in since this started have all got shelf labels stating they're 98p - the one I go to most often only put the 50p banner up this morning. I'd imagine very few people have therefore noticed it!

Some like it hard and some like it soft, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Crumble them into some cheapo vanilla ice cream.. tastes better than Ben & Jerrys or similar "premium" crap.
None on shelf in B'mth today, very dissappointed. :disappointed: Got cinnamon buns instead, 80p for 2-pack.

Are these suitable for vegetarians?
There is no green "V" on them but neither is there anything in the ingredients that is obviously non-vegetarian.
Thanks
