This looks a really lovely holiday. 9 nights in Sardinia in a house in Olbia, in Villa Maestrale just 100 yards from the beach. The house has reviews on booking.com and I've looked at the location and it looks amazing! If you want further information about the location I'd check this hotel out which is literally 5 minutes walk away and significantly more expensive https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g187883-d1108542-Reviews-Hotel_Mare_Blue-Olbia_Province_of_Olbia_Tempio_Sardinia.html
The house has free parking so if you did want to rent a car you won't have any problems parking and reviews for the nearby hotel suggest there is nearby cafes and restaurants if you did want to eat out. The house has all amenities such as TV/DVD Player, CD Player, Flat-screen TV, Air Conditioning, Iron, Seating Area, Washing Machine, Heating, Hairdryer, Toilet, Bathroom, Bath or Shower, Bidet, Refrigerator, Microwave, Kitchen, Dining area, Electric kettle, Kitchenware, Oven, Stovetop, Toaster, Dining table, Children's high chair, Outdoor furniture, Outdoor dining area, Towels and Linen.

School holiday prices mean prices go up significantly and this post was cheap for August. I'm off to Sardinia myself soon for a few days and bargains a plenty outside of school holiday dates, I guess that's always the way it is.

That's why you may be better booking a more reputable company such as Avis etc via BA. Never had problems but that's always been outside of EU.
thanks but what do you mean by block, is it like a deposit?

Make sure you read the small print most of the hire deals block a huge amount on your credit card.
Even after you return from your holiday.

Thanks yes will have to see what my options are. Might book it for a few days to see other parts and make do with local beach etc at the start. Thanks for all the help.

Managed to get on BA site, more expensive but you do get free additional driver and Avios etc if that interests you. Never heard of Ace on Kayak but gives you some idea.

I think it looks a lovely family holiday. Hope you have an amazing time. Did you book the house in the deal? Google have a street view if you put in the address and you can virtually walk to the beach which is a few steps.

I would do a search with Kayak or Skyscanner but sign up at British Airways for an Exec account (free) and then check their prices as they use Avis and are often cheaper plus you get additional benefits included such as addition driver, better insurances etc. Tried to check but their website is down....

That's the total price pp, taxi cost should be around £30 return - I probably could have worded it better! It's 10-15 minutes from the airport.
