Maybe a bit cheeky but an earlier deal for this same watch at £82+ made me remember that I bought one last week from eBuyer for less than £80 so I thought I should post. A good watch for the price - I'm really enjoying it.

I thought the same thing when it first arrived and it took a day or two for me to get used to it but now that I've had it for a while the size isnt a problem. TBH because I use it to look at Facebook, Google Maps etc I wouldn't want it much smaller!

Can you review texts and emails on Androidwear? That's something I don't like with the Pebble smartwatches.
Yeah looks like you can and is much more feature rich than the Pebble >
what is the watch in those pics? it looks ridiculous on that blokes wrist

Does anyone know if this can send voice by Bluetooth for calls- particularly interested if u can leave it in ur desk/bag and speak into- as useful on car journeys-
Also heart rate tracker?
Just curious? (Or alternatives that do?)

Unfortunately you can only accept calls on my Sony Smartwatch 3, which I presume is the same as this. So if you're away from your phone and answer it you can just do what I do and start shouting "I'LL BE THERE NOW, I JUST CAN'T FIND MY PHONE"

No, it's android wear. Congratulations, you get to spend several times as much for a product that is probably just about on par with this.

Yeah it will, but many if the features (like replying to notifications) will not be available.

As much iHate as there is; having all your notifications on your wrist gets annoying; never mind trying to take calls; you like ridiculous - it makes blue-douche headsets look cool.
. I have been lucky enough to try a variety of smart watches. I only like the 'fitness' features. I have that you have to wake up the watch to check the time and it has to charge regularly if you use it a lot. The best compromise is a fitbit or similar more affordable fitness tracker and a regular watch.
TAG and Fossil have combo watches; regular watch; with fitness trackers inside.
I guess it's horses for courses, but I'm not at all annoyed with my notifications showing up on my wrist - it's preferable to checking my phone constantly. Of course I've disabled notifications from certain apps but text, email, facebook, etc is really handy (no pun intended) for me.

It is. For some reason blokes thing they aren't masculine if they buy the 42mm version, which looks far more like an actual watch. The 46mm one pictured here looks a dinner plate to me, but there's no accounting for taste.

Don't see how it's more annoying than a phone pinging or buzzing every few seconds. Since I got the first Pebble my phone has been almost constantly in Do Not Disturb mode - the only notifications I ever get are a subtle buzz on my wrist. I only need to get my phone out if it's something I want to act on. To me this is a fairly elegant solution, and if I didn't have all my notifications coming through the watch, my phone would be buzzing and lighting up instead.

Given how many features will be locked out for ios users, I may as well not be!

If you just want notifications, music controls, some health features and Google Now features then it works just fine. It isn't any different to using it on an Android to me, as I don't use watch apps at all - the watch is purely for giving me notifications and looking nice.

Why is it better than gen 1? From what I've seen they have exactly the same internals, the 2nd gen just has a crown and can connect to wifi independent of phone.

I got the gen 1 because of the low price, just to see if I'd really get on with a smart watch. After a week or two I'm loving it and I don't think I'm missing out on anything much that a more expensive watch would offer via Android Wear.

it has a slightly more refined design, better battery life, better fitness tracking and more features overall, it can also be submerged in water.

This isn't a bad one and works with Android and iOS, but like the Asus; iOS has limited functionality.
