The Surface 3 (non Pro) is fanless. I reckon I could probably get a 128GB/4GB Atom for around £350 with the keyboard on Gumtree...which makes it a similar price to what yours would be with the keyboard attachment (I couldn't do without the keyboard).
My T100 isn't fully dead yet though - so I'll keep pushing it until it fails entirely (speakers/headphone jack/HDMI are no longer functional - but Bluetooth audio and Miracast work perfectly :smiley: . The reality of being bounced around in a pannier bag for a few thousand miles each year).
I'll keep the Venue in mind though; that USB charging feature makes all the difference.

Venue Pro 11 is micro USB charging too and it does a full charge in about 2-3 hours depending if you are using it at the time or not.

You get the micro USB input on one side and the full sized USB 3 on the other :smiley:

I got a Core M5Y71, 4GB RAM & 128GB SSD brand new for £260 off eBay so you can get good deals on these and I believe they have the added bonus of being fanless which I don't think the Surfaces are??

Keyboards are a bit pricey for the Dell though but I would highly recommend one after a month of ownership so far.

Great little tablet for office work. Huge battery life and full windows 10 upgrade. the screen isn't great and the keypad is fine, not great, but fine. If you want a productivity laptop then grab this.

The original T100TA was higher priced than now, but it was astonishing good value two years' ago. Exceptionally long battery life for running and in sleep mode plus it came with full Office 2013 home and student licence that I transferred to an i5 quad core laptop which saved me £99+ as up to then I was running Office 2003. Altogether a super reliable portable PC to carry around.

My Dell Venue 11 charges via micro USB. Has an Atom Z3770, full-size USB 3.0 port on the tablet and an extra battery in the keyboard not a hard drive.

If you get this pray it doesn't go wrong Asus support are the worst I have ever dealt with. I had a tablet that was won't wrong close to 12 months warranty limit sent asus receipt and they said it was definitely covered. So sent it received an email saying actually it wasn't covered and oh it's £48 pound for delivery if you want it back. It only cost £60 on a tesco deal from here. Honestly if you want a warranty steer clear!!!

Micro USB charging is important to me...which counts out the Pro 11.
The Surface 3 is basically my perfect device - but it is too pricey. With that said, I got my T100 for under £100 almost 2 years ago...so I reckon I will be able to get a great price on a Surface 3 if I look on Gumtree for long enough :smiley:

This is about the same Spec as Linx 1010 Windows Tablets currently knocking about, but for about a third of your £150 price-tag, or less? (less the Keyboard Dock, & only 16GB instead of what u have there at 32GB instead, but apart from that ... )

Irony was, I always wanted one of these Asus Transformers as well, but after getting some of the Linx's, I'm now of the mind of ..... lol.

Beware not all versions include the keyboard or dock as they call it and they can't be bought separately. Happened to me and I had a hell of a job returning it - multiple calls, return authorisation to a blank address - ebuyer should be better buy Asus direct are appalling. I can't see positive indication this package includes the keyboard / dock.

Fair enough as I was just speaking from experience as mine seemed to have less space after the update.

I've still not got round to selling it so I will have a look as it has intrigued me now as I thought I deleted the old windows and update files to clear as much space but possibly not.

EDIT - Oh and my old one is one of the originals with the better processor than this one and is going for less than this..........

Get yourself a Dell Venue Pro 11 as that's what I just changed to it is awesome.

Just make sure you go for a Core-M series CPU if you go for one of those.

Did you even look on the John Lewis page for that Lenovo?! It is Windows 10 powered.

The Windows 10 increases the amount of available space (especially when compared to the older version of the T100 which shipped with an uncompressed Windows image)

Yeh it used to cost notably far more than the current asking price of £150, being upwards of £250+ at the time?, but saying that, that was like upwards of 1.5+ years back & the like at the time, so things like depreciation would have long kicked in anyway?, eg. like the Linx 1010's eventually also did ... )

I haven't seen too many of these Transformers coming with a Keyboard Docking Bay with no 500GB internal hard drive present?, hmmmmm, not bad. :-)

Fair enough and it could be right tbf as I paid about £300 for mine so they must have cut some corners somewhere to get the price down!

Just thought it strange they offer 'lesser spec' on a newer model but could well be the case and the USB 3 on mine wasn't very fast anyway as it was restricted by the micro SD controller or something beyond my understanding.

I was just going from the ebuyer description, it says one micro USB and one USB 2.0. Although I find the specs listed on a lot of sites to be a little lacking sometimes!

Think he's alluding to the adware/malware that was installed on lenovo laptops a year or so back.

Think this Asus is USB 2, which may effect some if they're thinking of putting a tiny thumb drive in to increase storage.

Thats true!, a few 'Deals' of these Lenovo's of late have been knocking about via HUKD in last few Days or so for Argos, Tesco, Sainsburys, etc, etc? (& of which, 1 of them had it for £119 also!).

Its not a true 'Like for like' comparison?.

The OP's Deal is for a Windows Powered Device, whereas the Lenovo link u produced is purely that of an Android Powered Device instead? .. do sort of depends on your preference really?.

But speaking of all things both Android & Windows where it counts is this:

I like the thoroughbred of Lenovo (being the ones who now own the rights to all of IBM's Technologies now & the like), but that Superfish 'stuffs' they installed upon ALLLL their previous Windows-based 'Devices' in the past from Tablets to Phones to Laptop to PC's to ..... on that account has made me a bit wary of them with anything 'Windows-based' they do now, which is very unfortunate.

I know because of the public issues it gained off of that Lenovo don't pre-install that again, but prior to that millions of such 'Units' had already been Shipped out Worldwide to Retailers wherever!, who's to say that some of these yet expelled Stock-lots wasn't part of 1+ years Batch-lots of the infected Product Chain before that particular Malware was pulled forth?.

Fortunately their Android Devices aren't capable of containing Superfish, as that was for Windows ONLY (as far as I'm aware?).

But as Lenovo makes both Windows & Android Devices regardless (but hopefully not so with an Android Superfish?).

But saying that, Android has its own inherent 'issues' too I guess? (u can't win ... ) ahhhhhhhh well?, lol.
