I placed an order with them yesterday and it was cancelled last night. Reason: Carrier Can't Ship. Money has been taken from my account though! Went back on to reorder today and it was relisted +£100. Got in contact with the TheCablePlace, nothing back, got in contact with Rakuten who essentially told me to contact TheCablePlace and to come back in 3 days if things aren't settled.

Oh no, mine is a Sapphire trixx as well. Just checked my o/c again - I lied. I'm at 1130/1700. That's with +38 core voltage and maxed out power tho. When stressed only hits 73 degrees

Maaan. If I buy this I will have to buy a new PSU!
Can someone justify the spend? I am happily playing CS GO and Fallout 4 with my R9 380. I guess it is an upgrade for the Oculus.

Don't do it. The prices on two-year-old tech have barely budged. See what's coming out over the next few months.
You've got a working 380 already, so you can play any game available today at decent settings. This would be an overly-expensive upgrade considering the relatively minor boost you'll notice in gameplay.
All that is before even taking into account the suggestions that this seller may not be top-notch.

I can't help you justify a bad spend.
If you are looking to be 'rift/vr ready' I wouldn't recommend this generation's mid to upper range cards.
Pretty much the Fury X and the 980ti are the only ones I'd consider for the best VR experience, and even then, I'm not sure.
Plus, if you go with any of the high power consumption cards, you need a new PSU, why not put that PSU money toward the GPU? If you were going to buy the 390 + a GPU, just buy a 980ti. Probably about 60 quid more for a card that is far ahead.

Same here, they are the worst company/bedroom seller on the internet. Seriously guys, even if it means spending a few quid more then get this card from somewhere else.
TheCablePlace are an absolute nightmare to deal with and I will put my car on it that you will not receive this item quickly and you will have to chase it up......and chase it up.....and chase it up, then threaten a charge back, etc.
Just check their latest feedback on Rakuten, there is a reason why most of the recent feedback are 1 star! Ignore the 4.5/5 overall or whatever that is, just read the recent feedback and you will understand who you are about to deal with!

I do NOT like or trust Rakuten or this seller, thecableplace. I bought something from them and it stopped working after less than a month and they refused to replace it saying I had to go direct to the manufacturer. Then the manufacturer said take it up with the seller. So after a runaround I had to put in a complaint with Rakuten who did nothing but lie for 2 months that they were 'looking into it'. Worst customer service I've ever encountered from all involved.

Not sure what to say about the cable place. Whoever 'runs' it also runs one or two other market place 'businesses' on Rakuten. I ordered 2 separate things in late October, one from the cable place and the other from another which I can't remember. Both products 'despatched' quickly. Neither arrived. Follow up emails were answered quite quick and both were promised to be re-sent. Both eventually did arrive well after they should have....both with Cable Place stamped parcels.
I left negative feedback due to the large delay in receiving my items and was then hounded by email at least twice a week for 2 month asking me to change my rating. Even offered to send me a free gift if I changed rating.
I declined, mainly because I knew I wouldn't receive it anyway!!
Not going to say avoid as I did get both purchases (which were cheaper than everywhere else), but I will say don't expect a smooth ride

I had a couple of orders just before Xmas EXACTLY the same. The insisted they had resent my order, I've still recieved nothing to this day. They promise a free gift to bribe (an attempt at getting free feedback)
VERY clearly a scam, I am unsure why Rakuten allow such a fraudulent operation to continue under the protection

this is a good card. I have it with a 4690k using fractal r4 case, overclocked to 1180/1600 and it maxes out every game ive played- black ops 3 Gta 5, MGS. That's stable 60fps at 1440p too. Beast for the cash but new gen coming VERY soon so... tough call to buy now or wait.

Does this card really overclocks that high? I was only able to overclock my Sapphire R9 390 to 1137/1600. I would get artifacts in games if trying to go higher. What temperatures do you get when on full load? Thanks

Even though this is my deal I would personally never say ASUS is a good OEM. Their warranty and RMA issues make them a poorer choice than say MSI/Sapphire/EVGA

If you trust this seller, they offer the 970 at an amazing price as well -- 215.
At 1080p, the 970 is generally the superior card. At 2k the 390 is generally above the 970.
At 4k, don't buy either of these cards.
If your CPU isn't at least an i5 2500, then do not buy the 390 as you will be bottlenecked in dirextx 11 games.
Other than those considerations, it's a good card from a good oem... From a fairly bad distributor.
