Paris, 1789. The French Revolution turns a once magnificent city into a place of terror and chaos. Its cobblestoned streets run red with the blood of commoners who dare to rise up against an oppressive aristocracy. Yet as the nation tears itself apart, a young man named Arno will embark upon an extraordinary journey to expose the true powers behind the Revolution. His pursuit will throw him into the middle of a ruthless struggle for the fate of a nation, and transform him into a true Master Assassin.
Introducing Assassin's Creed Unity, the blockbuster franchise's new chapter powered by the all new Anvil engine, rebuilt from the ground up for next gen. From the storming of the Bastille to the execution of King Louis XVI, experience the French Revolution as never before, and help the people of France carve an entirely new destiny.

Huge let down after the amazing Black Flag / Rogue games, but still well worth a play for any assassins creed fans especially for this price. Have some heat!

Really enjoyed Syndicate (my first real AC experience) so tempted to work backwards through the series. Have all the bugs and performance issues in Unity been squashed now?

If you care about the overarching plotline, you'd be better off going forwards instead, but I'll be the first to admit it's hardly classical literature.
I can't speak for the Xbox version, but I'm 68% or so through my first playthrough on PC at the moment (picked it up along with the paid-for DLC for about £8 last month), and although it's not bug-free (impossible, I know, especially for an AC game), it's a lot better than it was at launch and worth a punt.

I've played all the AC games except for Syndicate in order, and I'm currently finding Unity a real drag, the worst of the series for me. Up to chapter 10 but it's a real effort to get through this game.

I really enjoyed unity more so than syndicate. Each to their own I suppose

I've played them all up to my current playthrough of Unity in order, and I didn't mind the story sequences too much (although the plot is even more lacklustre than previous games), but I am finding the open world stuff much more of a drag than normal, especially since I already have the best Legendary gear so I've no need for all the money I'm accumulating. I was irked by the challenges in the story sequences often relying on you having skills you might not have bought yet, meaning you had to go back and replay them again later.

Unity, one of the worst AC games. Black Flag is better and you can get that for £3.99 on CDKeys now.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Unity. I had horrible bugs at first, went back to it many months later.
Switched the language to French, and it shows English subtitles. I love how it looks, I love the period. I don't care for the tedious Asparagus backstory and just like the current period (AC2 story was half decent, but lets face it these things don't compare to literature). Underrated game.
