Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag - Special Edition is currently showing as £4 in the UPlay PC client, under the 'Shop -> Deals' section. Dunno if £4 is the cheapest price ever, but it was cheap enough to get me to finally buy it.
It's showing as £5 on the UPlay web store, so go via the PC client to get the cheapest price. I assume this will be available for everyone.
See image in the 1st comment for proof.
I also noticed you can trade 100 UPlay points for a 20% off voucher, on all purchases in the UPlay store. I did this and got an additional 80p off, bringing it down to £3.20. Handy. :)
From what I can establish, the additional "Special Edition" content is as follows:
ADDITIONAL SINGLE & MULTIPLAYER ITEMS...
Captain Kenway’s Legacy:
- The Antique Golden Rapiers
- Reales Reward
- Treasure Hunter Multiplayer Costume
- Treasure Hunter Multiplayer Picture
- “The Treasure Hunter” Multiplayer Title
Standard Edition is £3.99 in Steam, if that is more your cup of tea. :)

Applied for my 20% off voucher using my 100 uplay points.
Said I'd get an email within 5 minutes.
6 hours later nothing.
Live chat bad, twitter team bad, ticket bad.
Ubi are well up there with the worst client to ever deal with..terrible.
Don't think they will ever learn or shake off there reputation.

IMO if it didnt arrive within 5 mins i would have stopped and just bought it. No way all that effort is worth 80p

The Freedom Cry DLC ( not the stand-alone version, which is more expensive) is also on there for £2 - that's pretty good for anyone who already had the base game.

I bought this last time it was on the sale and it failed to install correct, I raised a ticket with uplay support and they were shocking and then closed the ticket without any reason after 4 weeks without any resolution.

Had no issues getting it work.
Did you 'Verify Files'? It doesn't say anything about being compatible with Macs on the store description page. Seems like a Windows only version.

It's a pretty good game.
I do understand the uplay hate but even if you get it on steam it just opens uplay after you start it in steam to play the game.
I remember when I hated steam, when half life 2 came out and I was forced to download it on whatever pos internet connection I had.
200 odd Steam games later I love it (cant say the same for origin or uplay yet though)..

IMHO A big problem with UPlay is it needs admin rights. Nobody these days needs to be running as an admin user by default. But you can just enter your password, you say? Not if you're streaming you can't. :disappointed:

Seems pretty cheap on Steam as well if you don't want to use UPlay.
All Ubisoft games use uPlay, regardless of where you buy them.

Any chance this'll be added to the humble bundle?

If it does, I'll be a sad panda, but I doubt it will be. They will probably add an older AC game, if they add another from that series to the bundle.

Uplay Digital Deluxe Edition is £6 with extra content that doesn't seem to be in the season pass. Which version to get??? :disappointed:

Looking at the reviews on steam specifically for the DLC it didn't sound worth it to me, it sounded like a lot of it was skins/ multiplayer stuff.
I think they normally reveal the extra games a week after a bundle launches (which would be tomorrow at 7pm GMT) so it might be worth holding off just in case.

Knowing my luck they will add Revelations to the bundle, I expect Black Flag is still a solid seller and would be very surprised if it turn up on the Humble Bundle.

To be fair, most of the stuff you can spend the points on for each game is junk. :P

Interesting that the discount works, their terms claim 'only the most important discount % will be applied'
Purchasing through the UPlay client seems to give you a free upgrade to the Special Edition. I don't think the standard version is available on there.
