I personally found Syndicate to be fantastic. In my opinion it's up there with Black Flag and 2 as the best entries in the franchise.
But then we all prioritise different things in our games, it's impossible to tell if you'll like it.

Syndicate has nothing on Black Flag. BF will always be my favourite, get to assassinate people as a pirate then changing it up and taking down ships in your own customisable pirate ship :P

Yes. They send you a code for a digital version to redeem on the Xbox store in the same way you would use a wallet top-up or Xbox Live code.

Imo best AC game to date. The few before it were not very good but then the series came back with a bang.
