I don't find Uplay bad to be honest. The store is a bit of a mess but other than that all is good. I get 10% faster download speeds compared to Steam too

I never found it bad from day one when it was being compared to some kind of satanic disease. But that's just me..you know...objective.

Some of the missions are not funny, like the the one where you have to take a dump on the street in the shadow of a cow being worshipped. WTF! Is this game legal in India?

They didn't compare anything. No need to be so tetchy (as you often seem to be on here these days), they were just pointing out an offer that might appeal to the same people this post would.

3-4 years ago uPlay was NON EXISTENT we had only ONE DRM management software called STEAM everyone was happy, now because some sheeps a lured by cheaper price we have to put with 3-4 game management programs on the desktop (Origin/Steam/uplay etc.)
Thats the issue with uPlay it exist and is required to run games
I dont care if its pretty or not or it gives you free games. I want to run all of my games through STEAM and only steam no need for another DRM end of story

That would tend to be because every single game I post now for a couple of quid is now jumped on by someone telling me it is, or has been, in a bundle. And usually they're like "pay more and get it with other games". Well yeah - pay more and get more - who'd have thought such outlandish ideas could ever come to pass. :smirk: Then I look around at other single games posted around this price point and NO ONE is mentioning bundles of crap games happening to containing the one decent game. That would tend to be what's ever so slightly irritating.

I notice you're not apologising for jumping down maizecorn's throat for no reason. If HUKD is causing you so much grief maybe stop posting for a bit. That said you are almost always the most negative poster I see on your own deals these days, even this deal starts with a pre-emptive dig at people who dislike uplay so perhaps you are bringing some of these problems on yourself? Just a thought.

If that's how you want to look at it that's your choice. I just think you often come across as bitter and even passive aggressive at times on here and that's inevitably going to attract a certain kind of response.
Elevation
9 Feb 16#28
My stance was due to the incessant repetitive responses, not the other way around. But when all is said and done I've never, at least, had to stoop to calling anyone on here "an idiot" or worse. Besides, seeing my deals like the Zenfone go Hot, when people had been trying so hard the entire night I posted it to keep it under 100, is just too damn gratifying.

You could also have said that about cars why would we need cars if we had horses ??
Steam offers bundling all of your keys and binding it to one account, no need for physical discs anymore or worries if they get scratched or lost, all you need is one account in addition to that thanks to its popularity chat with your friends on steam is also useful + family sharing + in home streaming its actually not that bad.
The really bad thing is fragmentation and exclusivity on some games only sold through uplay or origin and thats only because we customers let EA and Ubisoft for such practice.
Battenberg
9 Feb 16#30
That's rather my point. If the deal is good people typically vote hot. The fact people made a point of voting it down suggests there's something else at play and, with respect, you can come across as a bit hostile at times which may be driving people's decisions.
Obviously they're not right for doing that but the result is the same - good deals getting missed. That and a less than stellar atmosphere in the comments section. If other people are acting out replying in kind won't fix the situation and neither will assuming the entire HUKD community is out to get you. Just ignore them (or report them if it's really bad).
Anyway I'll leave it at that, not trying to start an argument. Obviously it's your right to post how you want (within limits), I just think it might be worth taking a step back and looking at how certain comments come across.

I think the fact that most people on the planet absolutely HATED Steam speaks for itself. No one wanted it, no one saw a need for it. Did they really say that about cars?
Also it came at a time when one HELL of a lot of people just did not have always on internet - Steam demanded it just for playing a game you'd already paid for. "Offline mode" has infrequently just crashed or not worked over the years so that one can be chucked out the window as well.

You realise that by saying that, you're also calling yourself a sheep right? Because Steam is the worst of the lot. The customer service is absolutely non-existent, their prices these days are rarely competitive (even during sales and against the LEGIT sellers), and they seem to be exploring ways to nickel and dime their customers in the worst manners possible, like with the Skyrim Paid Mods fiasco last year (which might have sounded OK in principle but was disgusting in practice).
The only consumer friendly thing they have done in recent times is add the refund option, and that's only because of the pressure they were under to implement something with the horribly optimised ports and anti-consumer approach from publishers (main WB Games).
There might not be any need for other DRM (or ANY DRM at all which is why GOG and GOG Galaxy is so great), but that doesn't mean they should go without competition.

I am not saying STEAM is ideal but steam is lesser of two evils, and also I am all about managing and grouping all of your digital library in one convenient place, physical disks are so 90's ONE account for all of your games is just convenience. What is not so convenient is having MORE THAN ONE management software. I really dont care who was first, if it would be uplay I would be cheering for uplay. Sheeps for me are people who lured by cheaper price are damaging game distribution making it more fragmented than is now.
I do agree with you with on GOG and paid mods unfortunately world isnt ideal and Im just trying to make the best out of it. PLAYERS had balls to rage about paid mods and they were cancelled, all we needed to do is realize and start raging about exclusivity of EA and Ubisoft games and they would eventually release all of their titles on steam

As I previously said I really dont care if it will be Valve or Ubisoft or TESCO. All I care about is convenience and having ALL of my games in one place, NO I AM NOT BIASED towards Valve its just happen to be that Valve was first with STEAM and gained so much traction and market share that defragmentation jsut doesnt make sense at this point. Yes Im all about selling the same game in many distribution system what Im against is EXLUSIVITY and having to install this **** Origin or Uplay because I cannot buy Dead Space 3 or Tom Clancy game on Steam
yet theyve got popular games for free like tf2 and dota 2 available for everyone.
also cs:go which would be free but due to competitive and cheating they cant make it free

10 Feb 16#44
I don't suppose you've seen the uPlay and Origin libraries then, because they also have games for free there, especially on Origin where they give out games for free (plenty of AAA titles) every month. And TF2 never started as a free game, they made it so because it sold poorly as a standalone and it was pretty much their only choice to continue making money from it (of which they likely make A LOT).
Also, CS:GO was never going to be free. CS:S wasn't free, so why would GO have been?

So what uplay and origin games are the biggest games in esports? which even if you wanna criticize the esports genre - its going insane how popular its becoming (esp dota 2 and cs!)

But eSports is not what this conversation is about. It's to do with Steam, Origin and uPlay being gaming platforms and what they offer to us, the customers.
