Post surgery bras can be so expensive and not all that comfortable. Asda do these for a really good price, VAT free for those who have had a mastectomy. The most comfortable bras I have been able to find and very pretty.

Some would see that as quite an insulting way of making light of the magnanimity of a mastectomy.

When you claim to be offended on behalf of someone else you also demonstrate that you are more caring and a better person than not only the target of your offence but also everyone who has failed to take as much offence as you. It is called political correctness and widely practised by the dishonest and those too dumb to realise what they are doing.

You need help!. A mastectomy is a life saving and very traumatic experience.
Go and crawl under a stone.

Well done Asda, I remember a few years ago was shopping with my nan after she had surgery. Bras were seriously expensive and quite hard to find. Much more expensive then a "normal" bra. Heat added
Also were not very "pretty", they were basic white, black or nude.

Or someone who's had a boob job... I joke about my nan and my mothers cancer all the time. My man has had it since I was born. I'm 23. I'd rather them laugh about it than cry.

Magnanimity? Really?
Magnanimity
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Magnanimity (derived from the Latin roots magna, great, and animus, mind) is the virtue of being great of mind and heart. It encompasses, usually, a refusal to be petty, a willingness to face danger, and actions for noble purposes.

Goodness me, some of these oversensitive people...
Lets go back to the good old days where we talk in whispered tones about the 'C' word.
OR
Talk about and normalise it so it's no longer the thing to be feared - More people are surviving Cancer than ever before.
As I stated earlier, my comment was based on the post title - NO MENTION OF CANCER AT ALL!!!

So is an appendectomy. Acute appendicitis in most cases is more painful and will kill you quicker.
People need to lighten up. All this misery and stigma when it comes to cancer doesn't help sufferers.

Yes, it's not the usual mobile phone / lease car / memory stick post. However if it helps someone, great.
My experience (buying for my Father) is that any post-op clothing / aid is either hard to find or carries a premium (or both) so heat from me.

On a lighter note prior to having my appendix removed a Doctor asked for my permission to 'examine' me.
I thought how polite this Doctor was. Only when he started did I realise this was no ordinary 'examination'.

Nowhere in the title does it say that these bras are for post mastectomy ops. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought these were post 'boob job' bras. jgtuk was pointing this out, and, in my opinion, wasn't making fun of cancer patients at all.

My first reaction to this post was of amazement and even a bit of shock to think that the operation referred to was so common these days that Asda would see it as good business to have special bras in stock - my next reaction was sadness at the typical 'let's be offended by everything' attitudes so prevalent nowadays.
Many years ago I was helping out at a place for kids with downs syndrome, and on one of the seaside trips there were a few local yobbos with us, doing their community service and getting a free trip to the beach as well of course. Needless to say these chaps got a bit bored and started taking the **** out of one of the boys - nothing really nasty, just a bit of gentle sarcasm here and there, to which most of the children who understood what was being said had a good old laugh about it all, whilst I was rather horrified at first.
Over the next few weeks I was able to discuss this situation with some chief social workers as well as the parents of many of the downs children, and in almost every case the response was something like 'we find that most of the children prefer to be treated as normally as possible, with no special favours due to their condition, and so the yobs making fun of them in the same way they would take the mickey out of their mates, actually helps them feel the same as everyone else'. Not an exact comparison of course, but it has given me food for thought ever since, and certainly changed some of my views at that period of my youth.
