This wont be a national promotion though. I was told last year by a sales person in PCW/Currys that anything ending in 97p signifies it is a localised end of range sell off as opposed to national promotions which end in 99p.

.97p items are national end-of-line items. .98p are 'nearing end of line'. It's the same across all PCWorld/Currys stores, it makes sure the sales advisers know which items to shift.

yea I think this is the case but multiple shops still may have the same deal if it is a stock clearing

This is a great price. However, IMHO, MTP 2 is way better. The gesture features of MTP 2 are extensive. I liked using the MTP I but the more recent version is far superior... If your budget is flexible, try out 2.
