•Nintendo characters come to life in new ways as amiibo - interactive figures that have the ability to communicate with multiple specially designed games by just touching them to the Wii U GamePad Controller.

Thanks for posting. Ordered Peach for £6.99. However, previous experience with argos, I have no doubt the packaging will be damaged. Not keeping in box though, so no matter :-)

Best to order 2 if your collecting so they can overlap in the package and support each other. The Smash Peach Amiibo is surely one of the nicer ones.

I remember seeing a youtube vid where someone stuck a thin paper clip through the bottom between the amiibo plastic and the cardboard, nudged the silver foil and the amiibo nfc worked in its packaging. the only "damage" was a very small hole where the paper clip went through.

No they don't work in the box, but there are collectors out there...
I've got about 10 Amiibo, all in box, though that's more due to me not really seeing the benefit, but still being a magnet for gaming tat than anything else!

Note to those who like keeping their amiibos in the box. Probably not a good idea to get these as they delivered folded and in thin packaging. Otherwise, a good price for those who actually use them!

Do they still work in the box, when I got Yoshi it had a silver sticker over the part it would contact the gamepad as though they try block the contact

This!!!!!
Yeah, this was my experience from buying my Sheik amiibo. They packed it in that thin plastic you'd expect to see if you, for example, bought a scarf or other loose clothing item online from Asos or similar. So basically it had damaged packaging, but its perfect if you're actually looking to collect (the figure looked fine), especially at that price!
Sadly this is the second time I've bought a Sheik with damaged packaging (the first time was actually when buying from Nintendo directly... Hut group didn't seem to know how to pack items properly). Might just leave the whole 'perfectly unopened' business alone as its getting a bit silly now.
