I agree on Logitech Driving Force GT, its very decent, it won't include the clutch nor H-Shift but the build quality is pretty good to me

Am I right in saying even though it says PC that this is the Steam code, so it is downloadable for Mac as well ?

While it's not the same, it's well worth investing in even a low end wheel like the Logitech Driving Force GT or similar as it does change the way you play ETS2 (and I can only assume ATS is going to be just the same). I never expected to like ETS2 but I find it addictive, despite the very mundane concept behind it and a wheel just adds to the immersion, like you I'd love to buy a top of the range model, but couldn't justify spending so much money on a plastic gaming accessory (buying rockband kit was bad enough for the PS3).
As to the deal have some heat.

They're releasing Arizona soon for free and then the rest will be paid DLC. They intending on covering the whole of America from what I can gather from the SCS Blog
