it's a great game and I sank countless hours into it before it came onto steam. I read something about the multiplayer being dodgy but for this price I'd say give it a go

I played this game over 7 years ago. Stoll one of my favourite games to date, i preferred the graphics over age of empires the story was always the best. You should definately get the titans expansion pack, that just made the game epic. You can do soo much in this game, even cheat codes make it funner. I think ive finished the story like 6-7 times. So its not one of those games you finish and then never go back to. Trust me. Especially if you like mythology and classics.

the co-op element is fun with a friend. I wish I had a windows machine for these games and deals.

My experience with this game is if you have a high res display it won't scale to it so you'll have things really tiny at native resolution

The steam version scales up, its still not perfect but it does the job.

They've just announced a new expansion for AoM (13 years after The Titans), Tale of the Dragon. Spent lots of time on AoM after graduating from AoE in my youth.

Really great game. Good for learning about ancient deities , in a fun way aswell. Ive answered a lot of mythology questions correctly on quiz shows ive watched because of this game!

Can anyone comment if this runs on Windows 10? Saw one review on Steam that said it didn't run on their Windows 10 pc. Me and the boyfriend are interested in the game but would like to know if it would work on our PCs first! thanks :smile:

I somewhat prefer aom over aoe ii mainly because it adds a little more variety and the god powers can make or break games if used right.

I eagerly waited 5+ years for this to come out and brought it the day it was released, unfortunately they messed up the remake and its laggy as hell for all players - this is not player related - therefore I would seriously advise against buying this unless you want to play the single player campaign/LAN. Also beware there are never more than 20-30 players online at any given time. Love the game but cannot recommend this HD remake for all those considering getting it.

It lags like mad for online, this game is best for single player, buy it you wont regret playing this single player. Best quality, best graphics in my opinion.

Pointless multiplayer. It laggs like mad and goes slow as hell.
Decent skirmishs but gets boring fast.
New exp doesnt fix any of the above avoid if youre buying for a multiplayer rts

if I got the original game from CD, will this extension work? apparently you need the original game from steam..and theres a lot of bad reviews on steam lol.
but personally AOM is much better than Age of empires

No it wont, the Tale of the Dragon expansions is for the new Extended Edition only.

Yes it works on windows ten. And I get no lag at all. Few minor bugs but they should be fixed in next couple of months
