 Maximum user weight means the weight the bench is supporting. Weight is weight at the end of the day. You have a 100kg person on it, that person starts benching 120kg. The combined weight the bench is now supporting is obviously 220kg. Wanna guess what might happen if the bench goes south with 100kg+ in your hands? :man:

Do you even lift bro?
lol just kidding.
on a serious note... Not everyone will be lifting to bulk up.
I for one like to compliment distance running so would never be lifting too heavy.

I might be wrong but i think when they say 'Maximum user weight' this is not taking into account the weights themselves, just the person using them. But then again these are budget weigh benches.

No meathead "I can bench press more than you" arguments yet on this thread.

"Maximum user weight 90kg (14st 2lb)."
This seems pretty low for a weights bench, doesn't it?

tbh they surely must support more weight but if they dont tell you properly then how can you compare with others?
problem for me is the single leg at the bottom which may lead to instability - it does seem to splay out a bit though so may be ok

Hi,
The Adidas Bench and Weights Package has a maximum user weight 90kg (14st 2lb) plus:
The maximum weight allowed to be used for the bench press is 70 Kg including bar and weight.
The maximum weight allowed to be used for the Leg extension is 20 Kg.
bench is alright for many but leg extension is incredibly low i cant even believe its right

45kg is really light. Anyone can progress beyond that weight in just a few months, if that. Not worth it imo

The average weight of an adult male is around 86kg. If one bought a 150kg bench then that leaves them with 64kg to spare. The average male will soon out grow that. A 60kg bench press is nothing. Buying a 200kg capable bench will last much longer and be safer. Better yet, spend £150 and get a 300kg rated one.

31stone person is average build then? Eh!

Thats a better buy but still only 150kg maximum user weight. Its simply not enough. 200kg minimum for someone of average build.

I noticed an advert in Aldi yesterday for an upcoming weights and bench offer. Can't remember the details but may be worth a look?
Could you just use any weight plates to increase the weight of this?

yeah standard plates with 1 inch hole

There will be a design safety factor so yes it probably would support more. You'd do well to get your money back if it broke and you were over the stated max though. You'd probably hurt yourself, too.
