Iceland one tastes much better than this one. Not everyone can afford something like Musclefood unfortunately so people buy this. Still better than processed food (sausages and stuff).

Find some frozen chicken breast at a comparable price that doesn't have added water - and post the deal.
It's true to a point that you get what you pay for but the whole point of this site is that there are bargains to be had.
Like I say, for curries, wraps and anything where you want diced or sliced breast meat, this is fine.
For breast portions to roast, I buy the fresh chickens when they are 3 for a tenner and joint and bone them - It's not difficult (I used to be a butcher) but even taking advantage of the 3 for £10 offer, that still works out quite a lot more expensive than the Valley Foods chicken.

This is a great price, but not for me as the chicken is either from Poland or Brazil. Personally I prefer to pay more and buy fresh British chicken which I then freeze.

Tesco frozen 100% chicken breast with no added water is 3 packs of 700g for £8. Works out to be to be £3.81/kg. So not much more per kilo.

Yes there will be a certain amount of natural water in a product. But most chicken on the lower price end does tend to have extra water injected/soaked into it.
15% is not to bad. I have seen one pack from another supplier have 18%. Worst packet from yet another supplier I ever saw had 22% water content.
These fillets don't taste bad.
I have brought others that even my cats turned their noses up to.
Also because it comes from Poland or Brazil does not mean its bad. Being British doesn't mean it's better either.

Good effort, lad, a man after my own heart. I think chicken breast is by far the blandest part so only use it for curry, fajitas or escalopes. If I'm roasting a chicken I'll take off one of the breasts and freeze it for that, or both if my girlfriend isn't eating it - she's the opposite and doesn't like the flavour or the fun of caveman-gnawing the bones.

And I brine chickens sometimes, which adds water and makes them nicer. I know that's not the same as possibly feeling like you're being duped into buying the extra water, but if it has the same effect and makes it jucier then it's not all bad.

​Yeah my point was that it's naturally occurring on a very big scale so worst case scenario, when it's cooked off, you still have chicken, just not 750g. Discussions over the relative quality are really quite bizarre considering these people are in a supermarket buying meat products. Likewise, I'm pretty sure the British are as awful as anyone for mistreatment of animals reared for the table so if you had a sudden attack of the conscience, you probably wouldn't eat any of it, not just selectively exclude countries.

Funnily enough, curries are where a lot of my legs and thighs end up. Malay style curries benefit from longer cooking times and the extra flavour and denser texture of leg meat on the bone really helps.
Don't waste the frame, wing tips or skin when you strip chickens either. dust them with flour, roast them in a hot oven until they brown and then boil and strain them to make chicken stock - most of mine gets mixed 50-50 with coconut milk to form the basis of Thai and Malay curries and soups.

Think you misunderstood my point as well.
The water content that is declared on the packet is extra water compared to the natural composition.
By law manufacturers have to included the extra water added on the list of ingredients.
I you want an idea of what I mean go to Icelands and look at the back of packest. Some have water added some do not.

I seen this last week when I was shopping in Sainsburys but didn't post it because not only the 15% added water but the other rubbish too, if it was just water I would have been fine with it. Went to Tescos and got there 100% frozen breasts instead (as they are a better deal that Sainsburys 100% ones).

Ingredients - Chicken Breast (85%), Water, Corn Oil, Salt, Acidity Regulators: Sodium Citrate, Sodium Bicarbonate.

How much salt is added? And why add acidity regulators?!...In fact why add anything.
