Seems like a nice cheap Valentines meal out, not as cheap as the eating in meal deal posted before but if you have to take someone out.
I know not all Wetherspoons will suit some people but I like the ones in my local area, always good value and food.

If I took my other half to Wetherspoons for Valentines, I'd be wearing it. If money's tight, spend your money on a marks n sparks meal deal and cook her a romantic meal at home. Trust me, she'll appreciate it far more.

What do you mean? I remember going into my local spoons years ago and seeing someone propose to his girlfriend (they were both completely drunk), he preceded to give her an onion ring as an engagement ring ... About half an hour later he was lying on his back having slipped on pee at the urinals, he was still weeing. One of those Romcom moments you'll never forget!!
If that isn't the definition of a weatherspoons romance, I don't know what is!!

Lol well I know some people will insist to be taken out or the fact the person can't cook at home, play it safe, don't want to burn your smartprice lasagne and be in the dog house.

I think you are correct. You could try taking your partner 2 days after to save £4

Excellent deal especially considering its valentines day itself (Sunday) and it's a bottle of wine (2 and a bit 175ml glasses each). Steak club on Tuesdays is anything from £5.50 to £9.50 depending on location and includes one 175ml glass of wine.

Usually taking a girl out on Valentines guarantees something...... this guarantees nothing!

Count me in....should get a nice quiet spot
Whilst studying, I spent 4 years working fir wetherspoons in numerous branches. always kitchen work. Changing dates on food labels and repackaging out if date food (especially steaks) was common and widespread. Some of the things I witnessed have ensured that not only would i never eat in a wetherspoons, bur I would also steer clear of similar chain pub companies offering ready meals and steaks prepared by I'll trained staff. I appreciate this will be a common problem within the industry, but when you have seen some of the things I have in a number of their pubs it is enough to stop you from even buying a drink in there

Would you say that's only on certain foods such at the steaks or other things etc?
Are the chicken burgers and the likes ok? I do like the off beer and burger when cba cooking...

In my experience, Wetherspoons staff can either cook a steak well-done, or blue - but nothing else.

On the steak deal Tuesdays in Wetherspoons this exact same deal is 18.49 so I can't see that it's offering anything extra for the 1.51 except it's on the actual 14th Feb?

My mate worked in Fareham wetherspoons & told me it was the cleanest place he had worked in (5* Hygiene rated & yes he has worked some pompous restaurants . The best steak I've had out was in wetherspoons Bognor Regis.

All 3 branches I worked in were also extremely clean and 5 star with scores on the doors, however, the relabelling of food and serving out of date stock was ripe

Absolutely not and I would never attempt to "cheat" and pass it off as such. However, eating out at Wetherspoons and this is exactly how your food will have been prepared - thrown in a microwave/heated up in a blast cooker. Couple that with sitting in dingy surroundings and the odours of stale old men and I'd rather throw mark n sparks food in the oven in the comfort of my own home any day of the week.

You are getting DUMPED if you even attempt to use this 'deal', which is actually more expensive than the usual steak meal and a bottle.

In our 7th year of marriage, the wife and I don't do Valentine's Day, we do genuinely special days such as anniversaries, however. Back when we were just dating, if I took her out for a meal at Wetherspoons, she wouldn't be too snobbish to wonder why I'd dare take her there for Valentine's Day, she'd appreciate the fact that I was taking her out. Then again, I think it's a sign of the times and there are lots of ungrateful people around now.
