Hahahahaha, I agree!, as same applied to me too (several months back also), lol, where I too bought a few of these from different London based PoundWorld's, only for several months later to pass, and this to rather happen:
Good point, that's probably because it doesn't exist ...
I agree, I saw them there earlier too!.
Whether they're worth bothering with still, etc?, you decide ..... :-)

Was in town (High Wycombe), noticed one so picked it up for messing about with electronics. Opened it up and it was practically just this, but with a battery. Not sure about the battery as it's unmarked. Packaging says 300-350 usage cycle and Li-Polymer batteries.

Also at Gearbest for £1.71 but again without a battery http://www.banggood.com/Portable-Mobile-Power-USB-18650-Battery-Charger-For-Phone-MP3-p-89412.html Looks like these Poundworld ones are quite a bargain (assuming they're safe). They look to use an MP3401A chip which managers the charging and 3.7 to 5V output step-up. I've found an example schematic but I'm still looking for an English data sheet for more details. It would be interesting to see what protection it includes.

Britain ARMS, FUNDS, TRAINS Terrorists - Guardian
The war on terror, that campaign without end launched 14 years ago by George Bush, is tying itself up in ever more grotesque contortions. On Monday the trial in London of a Swedish man, Bherlin Gildo, accused of terrorism in Syria, collapsed after it became clear British intelligence had been arming the same rebel groups the defendant was charged with supporting.
That didn’t only include the “non-lethal assistance” boasted of by the government (including body armour and military vehicles), but training, logistical support and the secret supply of “arms on a massive scale”.

Would be perfectly fine in an emergency or to top up a MP3 player. If I needed to make an urgent call, I'd be grateful of a few minutes from a small battery pack, I think the bigger concern would be whether this could actually charge a modern device.

Had some in our Home and discount/Bargain. reasonable price for a 1200mah power bank i suppose, with most phones using larger batteries it typically will not fully charge your average smartphone but for some sort emergency that requires you not to have bought a spare phone battery they would do the job.
On the otherside as much as a fan as i am of cheap stuff, i wouldnt trust one of these as far as i could throw it lol and it wont be 1200mah more like 800 and its cycle count will probably be low.
Voted Hot on the price. thats the name of the game.

Not worth bothering with. A power bank should be alteast a certain level. This isnt more powerful than that of a aa battery
