All the dates I chose were available on the hotels website, but when I phoned up to enquire about the same dates via Tavel Zoo I was told the hotel was completely booked on those dates...

As for the deal itself, I would be very careful about paying between £89 and £139 (depending on the hotel) for just a "voucher". I tried making a test booking on the Travelzoo site and at no point does it check availability for you; you have to pay for the accommodation and then contact the hotel directly to see if your dates are available.
So if they aren't, you've just wasted your money and I wouldn't be too optimistic about getting a refund. For that reason, while the hotels get good reviews, I have to vote the deal cold. I'd sooner bypass Travelzoo and contact the hotel directly.

why don't you contact hotel first and book the date you would like to stay or tell them to reserve it. them buy via travel zoo

I've had a poor experience using TravelZoo for a Michelin-star restaurant meal previously, since after I presented my voucher, I found that extras got added on at the end of the meal (without first being informed), e.g. service charge based on the original full a la carte price of individual items got added (not the voucher price), bread rolls and butter (when previous dining there they had given it free).

The Daily Mail article linked to is dated 15 January, 12 days ago!
Although it's the Mail this time, it's normally the Daily Express that's renowned for its inaccurate scaremongering about extreme weather. Have a look at this link and you'll see it's all nonsese!
The Loft is a ****hole...and a million miles away from being a night club.
As stated,it's been raining a lot again here in Keswick today, and we're not far off flooding again.
You pay your money, you take a chance up here.
Although might be worth contacting hotel directly, some allow more people for a lower rate, worth checking before booking online anyway

That's fair enough I guess. Would want to venture somewhere else for the evening meal on the second night anyway. Breakfast would have been a bonus though...

But plenty of other places to eat if you don't want to stay in the hotel on the second night

Looks nice in the sun, but with the weather we have at the moment I think you'll need to scope out the local canoe hire places if you intend going anywhere.
