I see there are some newbies to Yankee Candles so just wanted to pass on a couple of tips to maximize your candle use.

1. When lit leave it for a good couple of hours or so burning. Basically try and leave it lit enough that a complete circle (right to the rim of the glass) has turned to liquid. This prevents tunneling. Tunnelling is when you light it for a few mins and get a small circle burnt. Do that a few times and you will never recover and it will just burn down the centre and waste all the outer of the candle. Believe me took me a few wasted candles to find that out.

I find if you can then put them on the floor. I have a fireplace of tiles. If I put them on there the smell seems to spread more than if it is on a cabinet or something. As the heat rises it just seems to not be as far reaching or strong.
Basically the lower you can have your jar standing the better I find.

I'm a 39 year old married man with 2 kids and I have my candles in a cabinet and anyone who visits who has not been before says wow your wife has a lot of candles. She is very quick to correct them to say they are mine.
I had 1 bought me for 1 Christmas and been slightly addicted since. I like a nice smelling house what can I say and I can be playing on my Xbox while a Baby Powder candle is burning in the background just to balance my sexuality :wink:

That may be nice for a phone or a mixer, but a candle on credit? If you can't afford a candle, don't get it.

The risk with very is that default charges are excessive, and they will happily ruin your credit rating and send in the bailiffs.

Others are available, Cranberry Twist, Vanilla Bourbon, Frankincense, Cozy by the fire & £10 code works if not already used.

Cosy by the Fire is lovely but is quite Christmassy as like Mulled Wine/Cinnamon.
Vanilla Bourbon is more subtle.
To be honest some people like something really strong smelling and others like a hint or subtle smells.
It's hard to be disappointed with any really in my experience.

I'm a bloke too and love them, there are better candles than 'Yankee' though, 'Bath and body works' for example, lots of sellers on Ebay.

So someone found a use for all the empty Douwe Egbert coffee jars.
Rather smell the coffee that was in them than the PONG that comes out of the candle.

There were only a few left, but Christmas small jar 3 packs were available in Tesco Kensington (West Cromwell Road) last night for £1.00, reduced from £4, in case anyone's local and interested.

Yankee must have really upset you in the past.You pop up in every Yankee post to bring them down!
I'm sure you have a valid opinion on which candles are best for you,but most people buy Yankee because they like Yankee.I think you need candle therapy to get the hurt out of you.

It's the cheapest I've ever got these candles so glad someone else got onto my tip as well

I got them on credit so I could get another £25 off. I will pay the order off in one payment and never use the catalogue company again ... Actually by default I apparently had an account with them 2 years ago (another Yankee candle deal) yet it recognised my old account and still let me open another one with the sane details... This company has never bombarded me with post or emails which is why I had forgotten
