Just popped into Asda at Spondon and saw these. £10 for a large jar. There was another Christmas one in a large jar for the same price but I can't remember what it was called. I have looked online and can not find them.

very.co.uk and littlewoods.com have large jars for £12 and £14 respectively. The "proper ones"

The better burn is down to the shape of the jar. The simply home jar is narrower at the bottom than the top so as the candle burns down the wax melts faster due to the jar being narrower.
The Yankee house warmer jars are the same diameter all the way to the bottom hence the burn seems to be a bit slower and seems more hassle. There is also more issues with the house warmers due to the distance the wick is away from the edge being the same all the way down and as such don't retain heat effectively. Simply home jars hold the heat better the further down they burn as the wick gears closer to the sides of the jar. This helps with retaining the heat giving a deeper wax pool and better throw.

Thanks - that's a really good point that I also forgot to mention, they do burn really evenly, better than some standard yankee candles I have xx

Yankee candle simply home range are genuine Yankee candle products and are in no way inferior. They use the same wax type and wax to fragrance oil ratio to create the range.
The only difference is most of the fragrances are less complex than Yankee candles standard house warmer range. Lately though Yankee have been releasing new simply home fragrances that are popular from their house warmer rage for example simply home toasted marshmallow is the same fragrance as fireside treats, simply home Christmas treats is the same fragrance as snowflake cookie, simply home vanilla frosting is the same as vanilla cupcake, simply home holiday magic is the same as home sweet home.
So to clarify simply home are genuine Yankee candles and are not inferior !!!

I keep repeating myself I know but 'Yankee' candles have changed their ingredients over recent years, I have the old and new version of a few fragrances, the difference is remarkable, you can smell the difference soon as you take of the lid, 'Zara home' candles and 'Bath & body works' candles ( American company only available on Ebay ) are far better, I rarely use my old 'Yankee' candles now as I know when they are gone I can't replace them.

The same here. Any Yankee candle made before 2012 is far better in terms of fragrance throw than anything after that but that doesn't make simply home Yankee candles an inferior product.
According to Yankee they had a fragrance oil issue with their supplier at the time (2013) and changed to another company. Since then the fragrance oil seems less concentrated and you don't get the throw you used to.
I use bath and body works candles and they throw really well but with them being 3 wick they really are soot machines and you can smell it in the air over the fragrance which is not good.
To be honest as much as I love coandle so tend to stick to wax melts as you get nothing but a big hit of fragrance and they are really convenient. I've also got a Yankee candle scenterpiece which yankee are promoting as having super concentrated fragranced soy wax and that is has a higher ratio of fragrance oil to wax than their har candles that used to be their highest ratio.
The scenterpiece can fragrance a full floor or house rather than than just a room but the selection is limited currently.

Shame its the Simply Home Candle as they are nothing like the normal Yankee Candles, I had a simply home one and its like a pound shop candle, hardly any fragrance other than melting wax and lasts a lot less than a normal Yankee candle does. I am sure that £10 is a good price but personally I wouldn't pay a pound for one.

I have the simply home vanilla frosting and agree they're not inferior - the scent is beautiful, it has lasted for ages and has burned perfectly evenly. Heat added, thanks OP

I've been buying yankee candles for years and years now, but always stuck to the regular yankee versions rather than "simply home". However, I was given one of these versions for Xmas this year and have been burning it for the past few days - hand on heart, I can't tell any difference, the scent is very strong and can be smelt at the opposite end of the house, as is usual with any yankee candle. So £10 for a large size it a great deal, I noticed they also had the Xmas ones reduced in my local Asda yesterday, along with the "merry berry" scent. Heat added OP xxx

I agree, I bought an Asda simply home a few weeks ago, great throw of scent and burnt evenly which is actually better than some of the original Yankees that I have bought recently

Hi. Thanks for sharing. I am burning two at the minute! They are genuine Yankee Candles but these ones are mainly sold at superstores rather than department stores. Much more affordable and more "everyday" than their main lines I think.

Possibly because Yankee in Asda are not 'genuine' Yankee They are 'Yankee Home' which are inferior to proper Yankee. They don't smell as fragrant or last as long.
