How much better is the new controller with the 3.5mm jack? Heard the triggers are easier to use but worth getting another?

Worth it for the inclusion of the headphone jack alone  not much else practical difference between the two

zero difference beside the 3.5mm input, if you wont use the 3.5mm input you will see zero difference

Will Amazon price match though? Could get two for £50 with the £10 off voucher.

Maybe they'll match tomorrow when the £10 off deal expires!

If you buy today, and keep pestering them that it's cheaper elsewhere, they usually lower the price, then you email them and tell them that the price has dropped within 7 days of purchase and they refund the difference.

Having bought the elite system it was clear that I needed an extra controller to play the intensive damage likely games such as Mortal Kombat. I can sleep at night now when others play. Heat

Does the jack work with PC?
Like will my PC's audio come out of the controller if I plug my headphones into it?
Can't seem to find the answer to this question anywhere :/

what's the big deal with the headphone jack?

Well you know those things that cover your ears called headphones? Well you can listen to game sounds on them and if you buy one with a Mic you can chat too! I was amazed too! Seriously though absolutely brilliant if you want to game and have music/sounds and the wife is working or reading or doing other wifey things and demands quiet from you...
I think it's brilliant no cables across the room, brilliant! There's no point in buying just for that if you have controllers though, but if you want extra ones then you might as well get these.
Don't forget the other feature with the new controllers is wireless firmware updates, the original controllers you have to plug them in via USB to update them

Not true, there where changes to the triggers too to make them less resistant.

The bumpers are 1000x times better and can be pressed in like a button at any point rather than like a paddle/bumper. Made more like they were on the 360. It is was hardly ever mentioned in reviews but for anyone used to pressing bumpers this way it is horrible.

anyone know a cheap way of connecting turtle beach x12 headphones for the 360 to this new x1 controller without losing chat function etc? Do i have to fork out for the turbeach adaptor?
I think you have to buy a usb adapter for use on pc. Also it plays audio only through the jack but if you want chat you will need the MS chat adapter.

Yeah I know about it needing a Micro usb cable or the wireless adapter to work, just wasn't sure if the 3.5mm jack would work on PC or not. Thanks.

tried to buy at 29.99 but went up to 44.99 at checkout. I then phoned Amazon and asked if they would price match the hot OK deal which he did , it took me about ten mins on the phone. hope this helps .
