I've bought 3 of them at this price in the last 12 months.
But apparently it's never this price.

Is this the one where the lead sticks out at the back? So when u lay the controller down its resting on the flimsy plug? If so, worst design ever. They snap easily.

No, the official ones plug into the controller itself at the very top

Nice find OP.
These are at £12 at CeX used but 2 year warranty. I'd think it should be fine but not sure if they hold charge after a while.
Anyone who's got one, would you say they deteriorate with time? Thanks

This is my concern, the 360 one I had was crap, I can buy two sets of eneloops for this price, not worth the risk.

A couple of issues to bear in mind if thinking about the Xbox One Play & Charge kit:
1) The battery is a measly 1400mAh. Average AA rechargeables are 1800-2000mAh and Pro series are 2500mAh. That makes a huge difference in the gaming time you'll get per charge, affecting not only the number of cycles you'll be running the battery through (and thus its lifespan) but additionally how much time will be spent used it whilst wired so it can charge. Which takes me to the next point:
2) There are huge issues with the USB connectors on these being flimsy, and the cable itself going bad within days or weeks of purchase. They spontaneously stop charging or cut out when using them wired. Check Amazon reviews.
I had a Play & Charge kit for my 360 but opted for Eneloop Pro AAs for my XB1 after doing my research.

Had one of these for just over a year battery lasts ages and no issues. Much better than unofficial ones.

These + an Apple battery charger I already had (Apple batteries are rebranded Eneloop).
Pair it with this smart charger and you've got 2 sets with far better performance and can be used in any AA device for the same price as a single Play and Charge kit.

good price, as mentioned by others same price in currys, game is £18 online but don't know if different in-store. got one if these myself, just stick out on charge end of every night and no problems for me, also my dad and brother are both heavy players and after using multiple 'cheaper' alternatives, they couldn't recommend the official one more.

Are these safe to use in xbox one controller? Instructions saying rechargeable AA batteries not recommended :disappointed:

So the company which sells an overpriced, underpowered rechargeable NiMH battery pack recommends you do not use rechargeable NiMH AA batteries which are more powerful and provide better value for money?
Gee, I wonder why?

Just use rechargeable AA batteries...

Good rechargeables may be better (and better value) but the advantage of this is the convenience - when my son's batteries are about to die he no longer charges through the house trying to find AA batteries with some charge in them (he usually ends up stealing them from the TV remote, which annoying when you want to change channels).
Instead he just calmly connects the controller to a USB cable. Or charges through the house looking for a working USB cable (he usually ends up stealing the one that's charging my phone - which is annoying when I go out and find my battery's dead).

Very true what you are saying.
However I have had a battle with PlayStation recently which is why I have got my son an xbox one now. Just do not want to do anything which will invalidate any warranty.
