It arrived fine, arrived in 2 days, it came with an eu plug though, luckily i had an xbox 360 cable lying around. they are a great company and i will definitely be buying from then if they have awesome offers like this.
The console is noticabley faster and smoother than my old one.

How was the transaction? Did the console come through ok? Thinking of placing the same order but know it ships from Denmark.
elite console with faster hybrid hdd, with the elite controller which i will sell as it's worth £100. plus quidco cashback. works out about £232 for the console, of course you'll need to buy another controller if you plan to sell the controller which will cost about £25, so it's like £250.
Definitely worth it as the hybrid solid state 1tb hdd is faster than this one.

I have also cancelled my order with them due to their incredible tardiness and communication (or lack of) that is equalled only by British Gas in my experience. Would rather pay a bit extra for peace of mind.
Well done to all those that got their bargain 1tb Xbox Ones delivered though! Early birds catch the worms!
Order fully cancelled, so not too bad Zavvi
BUT minus points for
a) Saying it was instock when it blatantly wasn't
b) Forcing me to choose a reason for cancellation when your policy states no reason required within 14 days
c) Using the language 'attempt cancellation' instead of 'cancel my order' in an attempt to deter people from cancelling
All in all I probably won't order via Zavvi again, but not the complete nightmare I was worried might ensue from reputation

so not END OF DISCUSSION.
Their communication wasn't too bad with me, they got back within a day or so but they avoided discussing any estimated time, so I decided to cancel my order and go for the 500 GB with ori for 228.
I have cancelled (or 'attempted cancel' wtf??) my order with them. Given their highly odd wording on cancelling, should I contact my bank and have them refuse any request for payment from zavvi do you think? Anyone heard of them trying to take payment after 'attempted cancellation'?

I am not defending them, just pointing out facts.
AND according to the law regarding sales of goods online, they have to supply "within 28 days of payment"
So waiting a few weeks to save a lot of money compared to buying the same elsewhere is not them trading poorly, they are keeping to the rules of online selling, because they still want to deliver within the limit the law sets. They could have just said sold out and we will not honour the lower price when we get stocks.
the moral to you is, if you want it immediately go to a bloody shop and pay cash and full price

OR ORR.... they could have said sold out before making me believe it was 2-3 working days like the listing said.

Well delivery within 3 days of paying and message replies within 48 hours does not look like a company that the complaints paint it as.
I have had just as bad service that the others talk about from many of the realy large click and brick retailers, where even going into a branch and asking for help face to face sucked.
I just think that in the fast modern world, we expect too much.
Like Zavvi did not expect as many orders as they received, when I (some years ago) worked in a tv retailing store, we would take orders from people coming into on of the 154 stores, only to find that the warehouse was suddenly out of stock when we booked the delivery........ nothing changes, just the method that you can order now that everything is online.
Fayz to trevorfranklin
13 Jan 16#56
Stop defending them pal, they are awful, 2-3 days delivery doesn't mean next month. If they can't supply on time then don't quote. Simple. they have a terrible rep online for a reason.
I'm an apple service technician and customers would go crazy if we couldn't sort their products in the estimated time scale.
Fayz
13 Jan 16#54
it was estimated 2-3 days delivery yet they gave me an ETA of next month! i waited for 4 days with no dispatch notice or anything, so i ended up cancelling the transaction. My guess is they ran out of stock, but they didn't explain anything until i complained, their reply was that they are looking for other suppliers to sort out the stock.
Just terrible company & it still has a bad rep online. just google search 'awaiting stock pick' and zavvi has 100s of complaints.

I used their facebook page and the 'message' service to query why I had received the 'sorry we could not cancel your order' message I had previously received.
The next day I received a reply that the person has spoken to the sales dept and confirmed it was an error, giving me actual dispatch day and eta of delivery. https://www.facebook.com/zavvionline/?ref=ts&fref=ts
Don't expect emails to be answered immediately, in my place of work yesterday I received SIXTY emails and unless I stop my actual work and spend all day it is impossible to give responses within 5 days.
Just because email is quick to send, do not assume you are the only person sending messages and expect immediate answers.
I will say that they SHOULD include a contact support phone number, which is the problem with nearly all online sales companies.

Every console purchased new comes with a 1 year warranty by microsoft, you could however ring them up and answer a few questions and pay extra to extend it. However it is not needed, my xbox one has been on for around 18 hours a day for 2 years and it work like a charm.. also had a roof leak and water dropped into the cooling vent lol
