Not really, Fitbit have the largest market share and this item is a Fitbit clone. People will be searching for Fitbits so tagging it as such is smart. He could save people searching for Fitbits some cash by offering them a cheaper alternative.

Very funny considering it doesn't say whether this is nationwide or not, and he wept because people were foolish and he still weeps because they still think he sacrificed himself. GG.

Adding not fit it makes it seem like an ebay listing. You don't have to manipulate the search here!

Does seem rather high and inconsistent, although you'd be hard pressed to get any consistency in kcals between different apps and devices regardless of price because they all calculate them in different ways.
I simply use an accurate heart rate monitor while exercising and forget all these step counters and all day monitors as the information doesn't tell you much more than you already know.

You absolutely do burn lots of calories even 1800 just by existing. In a 24 hour period of just breathing. That's why there's a daily recommended calorie intake to maintain weight. I could lose weight just lying here in bed as long as I eat less than the amount my body is burning just breathing. We are burning calories all day even sleeping.

I was sitting down for several hours, barely moving. Your figures are for someone weighing approx 175 lb plus over 24 hours...Yes of course that's possible, but it's not possible to burn that resting at a PC only moving my fingers for 7 hours.

You don't burn 1800 kcals sitting down. Yes you burn calories but it's absolutely not 1800 kcals worth - that's ridiculous. To jog/run 1800kcals, i'd have to run for an hour or more at a fair speed. As I said, I was sitting down for much of the day doing admin work for my day-job (even on a Sunday... :disappointed: ). My two friends have fitbit and Microsoft Band 2 and they are a similar height/weight to me and their bands said they'd burned 350 cals in the day whilst not having much activity.. The band definitely had issues today.
Like I say, i'll see how it functions tomorrow and if it gives a similar reading it can go back. I'd rather spend the £160+ on a Microsoft Band 2.
EDIT: It's definitely going back!! At 11pm it put itself into sleep mode automatically. I turned off 'auto sleep' because it's on by default and sync'd up with the app and the app says I was in a light sleep for 70% of the last 10 minutes! I was up and down the stairs getting stuff ready for tomorrow. Awful band. Really wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. 1* rating from me. I was really, really looking forward to getting this as well :-(
Final Edit: Took it back tonight. One girl came up to me and said she's bought her father one for his birthday. She said she'll keep an eye on it herself.

Bought one today and all I can say is: junk, absolute, junk. I've been sitting down for a large portion of the day and the tracker thinks i've burned 1,800 calories.... I have previously owned a microsoft band and was attracted to this because of the battery life. But it's totally inacurrate. Looks like i'll have to buy the MS band again next payday. Disappointed.

You did burn calories just by sitting. Most trackers will add this in on a timed basis also based on your weight. Extra calories burned by activity are usually added on to this.

I'm working tomorrow so i'll be sitting down the very vast majority of the day again. If the tracker does the same again i'll be taking mine back. I know it's £24.99 but I expected it to be remotely accurate.

Perhaps, that includes the BMR as well?
Either way, I am disappointed too. It wouldn't connect to my tablet. Also, it counted 900 steps when all I did was hang the washing (90 steps tops). Back it goes...

See, I'd prefer the Mi band but I have Hudl 2 (android 4.4.2; bluetooth 4.0) and when I try to download the app, it won't let me as the "device is not compatible". Any idea why it might be so? I wrote to Xiaomi but they never wrote back to me. :-(

I had a fitbit charge after a few months stopped charging and moisture got under the screen, loved the app and going group competitions was really motivating (the site was good for finding people to compete with), they sent me a new one after it broke without too many problems but again it stopped charging after a few months. I found the battery life rubbish, and the site says if your battery runs out every few days it will tell you to turn off notifications and alarms, and not to use any of the features the band comes with.
Had the mi band didn't like the app, stopped using it after a while.
Had the kerrimore fitness watch i like the fact you could see the steps and had other stats on there but without an app it wasn't very motivating and i stopped using it.
I've now got the jawbone up 2, after researching i got the one where the clasp doesn't easily come off, the app is great but its difficult to find people to compete with,it give you a weekly report on who has done the most steps i prefer the fitbit website for interactivity with other people and its very motivating. The jawbone app seems to have more information but its lacking in some areas.
I had the fitbug orb but found it annoying to use, you had to remember how many time to press it for it to record certain things.
I think overall i prefer the fitbit but didn't want another one as it kept breaking, if jawbone got a website together where you could create groups and interact with people it would be a lot better.

hmmm not sure what the benefits of this are over the mi band. it is way more expensive than a mi band and will almost certainly have a worse app. yes it has a screen but battery life of 30 days v 10 days. nah I wouldn't bother. Also Aldi and Lidl guarantees are a pain instore. you queue up for 10 mins get to the checkout where the cashier argues with you then gets the manager as s/he can't do returns anyway then manager tries to fob you of with a number to call and you say its broken I want a refund or a replacement and then you hit stalemate whilst they call the number and after 1 hour in store there is no resolution as they no longer stock it, your receipt has faded too much and they don't do business with the supplier none of which is off concern to me the customer. Obviously sometimes they just do a refund there and then but that I am now at 2 disastrous experiences out of 4 returns.

Are mi bands any good before I go and purchase one? At the moment the heart rate one is £18.81 so a considerable saving on a fitbit. I'd be interested in peoples opinions please.

No genius, ALDI have decided to use their buying power to buy them for just one store and let the rest just slide despite advertising nationwide. YOU could have spent 5 seconds and gone to their website but rather ask pointless, stupid and moronic questions which took longer than looking for yourself. You user name sums you up quite comprehensively.

I have the previous version and whilst not accurate it gives a good comparison day on day. The apps ok and if you have the other crane devices, GPS, heart rate chest monitor it keeps it all in one place. They do tend to reduce them after a month or so, if any left over like all Aldi deals, but once gone that's it for the next 6 months or so. Should also say my battery lasts a lot longer than my wife's fitbit flex.

Because to me its like one of those fitbit bands that are so popular, and the title doesn't really explain what they are to me, I suppose I could have put Fitness tracker but that isn't how Aldi advertise it

They advertise it as 'Activity Tracker' which is essentially the same thing. Adding 'not Fitbit' to the title and then 'Fitbit' to the Deal Tags does seem rather odd. Good price though.

Probably not, as they're all pretty much as inaccurate as each other. Where it seems to matter most to peoples experience is the bands software / app, which is why fitbit is popular.
