Just picked up some Christmas mixed (organic) nuts and Brazil nuts for 74p per bag. 350g for the mixed nuts and 300g for the brazils. Expire May, so grabbed a few bags as you can see from the photo. As other branches have stocked these I doubt it's a local deal only. The small stand is near the fruit and veg section and easy to miss.
Rubbish deal in comparison to mine, yet I haven't even reached 100 heat!
Waitrose has 'still' got loads of boxes of mixed cracking (Xmas) nuts - brazils, almonds, hazlenuts, walnuts etc.
Reduced from £17 kilo to just £1.74 kilo (pick as much as you want!)
I went in again yesterday and got another load for a friend. One shopper said to me, people are also 'Nuts' aren't they? I said yes, how can they miss this bargain? Oh well, more for us she said. Yep!
Here's my bowl of nuts so far (look at the size of the bowl on the table!)

Cashews are also the same price and so are a peanut and raisin mix. The 250g bag of walnuts are 87p

Lucky you! Got a garden. UPGRADE! CONGRATS! Still I would not put a tree to ground, I will put it in a pot and sink it to the ground so that it gets the nutrients mother nature (clay in this case!) intends for it. Years ago, I bought a pear tree and when it fruited, it was a genetic hiccup. All the fruits looked the same and weird. I then learned that cutting PEAR tree was a hard job. The trunk material was so dense. Never again. (Last October, I had to saw off a cherry tree, which had been smothered with black stuff and it took me 3 days!) I have successfully grown an almond tree, about 1 foot tall - in a pot, of course!
I will have to look around for some pecan and walnut nuts. Such fun! Hope you do the same! Beware of squirrels as they will make your garden their home (well, I have 2 hazel nut trees and the squirrels feasted on them before me!)

Do they have pecan in them? I seeded one from Morrisons and when it was 4 inches tall, the squirrel had it - the nut and the plant died. I was so gutted. I must buy another seed.

No its just almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts and brazils. That's planted a seed of thought (like what a did there), I've always wanted a nut tree, and I've space for it now...:innocent:
