A damaged garden fence is a temporary issue, being thick enough to get your car stuck in mud and then thinking it's okay to ruin someone's fence is, unfortunately for you, a permanent issue

NO! Tie a rope to them and your toeing loop/toe bar and they follow until you get clear.

Putting your car mats under the tyres, does the same...

Me too - left a roll of it in the boot after disposing of the wife a few months ago. I'm always thinking ahead.........................................

What did we use before this and if you didn't have one was a wooden plank or what ever you could find to get you out of a sticky whicket!

Got stuck in the mud once, these would have saved me from wrecking the nearest home's garden fence

If I get stuck in snow and use these to get me out, do I then stop the car again to pick them up?

Asda sold these last year for £9.99 so not sure if they are a bargain at this price now.

It was some laugh. We were in a hired campervan in a campsite and decided to park right next to the river to fish out the back door so we could do so without a permit. A good while later we realised we had sunk pretty deep into the lawn. We had to get out and quick before we were spotted by the site owners, hence using the fence, to be fair we did use their doormat first to try but that just got pushed down into the marsh that we'd created. Never laughed so hard, finally got out with the help of the fence and blew the gaff, next campsite bound.:smiley: Good memories.

I just made the wife lie in front of the wheels, no carrying around carpet taking up valuable space for booze in the back of the car. You just drive away and leave her behind. If you love her I suppose you could tie her to the tow bar and drag her along behind until you get to where you are going. No doubt she will be appreciative of the mud face pack and dermal abrasion and thank you. My ungrateful wife never came home so I go a new one. As they say a change is as good as a rest.

Not sure who's the thickest, the muppet who stole part of the fence or the prat who defended them

Bought a pair of these in Halfords last year for £2 in some crazy in-store sale. Haven't needed to use them yet but they look like they are up to the job!
