I found an ordered this for my because it is cheap and it seem to be good replacement for my old Honor. I know you will judge me but a Chinese Android phone is way more worth it than a iPhone :)

Isn't everything better value than an iphone? If a iphone was £2000 isheep would still vote them "hot"!
Just consider Apple profit margins, this gives a clue to their value.
Samsung will see profits collapse with the Chinese Android phones.
Apple will try and maintain margins from ifools

Why should I resell it after 1 year? If I need a new one I will just buy a new for around 100 quid and you will be stuck with your iPhone traying to resell it

resale value, it only costs £77 brand new. you pay £400-£600 for a new iPhone the value will depreciate be about the same for both phones where you will have lost about £300 on your iPhone.

Personally I prefer the look of the octa-core Doogee F5 (£99 from Gearbest). I've had several Chinese phones and had no problems whatsoever. They're cheap, they work well and I can update/upgrade at my leisure and just use a simple SIM only plan. What's not to like?

I bought a doogee x5 for about 35 pound for a spare sim I have with free minutes. I have to say the phone is really good. It's fast with a clear hd screen. Battery lasts for days and takes an sd card. I could easily use it as my daily driver. I'm actually thinking of moving to a Chinese phone at some point.

the most profitable? so they overcharge for a phone which to be fair has never really changed for the last few years? won't be long and Google's parent company will surpass apple in the profit margin

Apple are very good at marketing to idiots, hence how much cash they make cos they know the sheep just keep on buying at top prices. See their first 1984 advert and the "brainwashed" people, ironically they now perfectly resemble Apple fans. :stuck_out_tongue:
I remember that advert first time around, yes there is irony for sure but I think calling apple customers idiots is a completey unfair thing to say, we all love having choice of products and apple is one of those choices that we can all freely decide to buy or not.

O/T, but has anyone a good idea for a reasonable 4.5" phone not costing the earth with, say 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (min), 1280*720 screen resolution, 4G and perhaps a bit faster than a stock 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410? A small screen variant of the 16GB Moto G would fit the bill if it existed. Alternatively an S5 Mini but it is quite expensive and the processor is not brilliant (although nominally 1.5GHz).

The iPhone starts out with Apple engineers in the U.S., is sourced with components from different parts of the world, mainly southeast Asia, and is only assembled at Foxconn in Taiwan
So what's the argument you can't judge every product on where it was built.

So nothing whatever to do with providing superb products for nearly four decades which satisfy customers so much they just keep coming back? It's the brand people want because it delivers, time after time. If it didn't they couldn't charge a premium.
Since when was learning what stuff works and keeps on working 'brainwashing'?

As the ducumentary on the making of iphones exposed, they only cost around 5 Dollars in parts to make. The rest is wages , middlemen , marketing and excessive profit.
Most electrical products have low profit margins , less than 10%. Iphones have 40% upwards markup in the stores.

They say that 2g phones connect better than smartphones.
Be interesting when the new battery technology gets into the shops - charging in half hour.

9 Jan 16#29
Well I think for a lot of people they ultimately don't deliver due being constrained to the Apple eco system, whereas others like android give you far more freedom to use your device how you want.
So if Apple works for you fine, but I would rather not pay a premium for a device that does not do what I want it to when I have access to products which I find both superior and cheaper.

You can get the Doogee X5 from the usual Chinese web sites (Focalprice, Gearbest etc.) or Amazon if willing to pay a bit extra. The Pro version is worth the extra as it has 4G and more RAM.
However, this phone looks far nicer and has fingerprint recognition and what looks to be a half decent camera. Video review at https://youtu.be/5BanSxNgdVI

I repaired an iPad with a broken screen that was given to me for free. total cost was around £20 all in. It's nicely made and perfect for multimedia duties and the is game. compared to android you really need to jump through an awful lot of hoops to do what you want with it and that's exactly what's wrong with apple products in my estimation. I'd take android over apple any day of the week as a result. apple seems to be about paying more to be able to pay more and do less, wrapped up in a nice package with some slick marketing to make you feel that you have a better product. Of course, the vast majority don't fall for this....

I can honestly say that I have seen the light! I was an avid Samsung user for years, paying stupid sums of money on their products. Now I buy the much cheaper Chines phones, Huawei at the moment, and have found that they are just as good as far as I am concerned for less than a quarter of the price. Presently I have a Huawei P8 Lite and it beats an iphone 5s in a comparison test. Just type this in google: huawei p8 lite vs iphone5s
I lkove my chenese phone and its fast enough for me for my use.
