I've got the Ulefone Be Touch 2. The performance is good, but it chews through battery. If you search for "Be Touch 2 battery" on Google, I'm sure you will find the threads and posts complaining about it. Either the battery is of poor quality or there is a software bug somewhere, even after updating. With my use, I could barely get though a day on the Be Touch 2 (3050mAh) whereas my Note 3 (3200mAh) can get 2+ days with my use.
Other complaints, the touch screen is not as sensitive. It works fine when you are doing an at a glance test, but in daily use, you will notice, swiping up will stop prematurely or it doesn't seem to follow your finger as accurately or smoothly as you would expect. The speaker is so bloody weedy, it sounds like a speaker on the other side of the channel tunnel heard though an ear trumpet.
The low light shooting of the camera was appalling, but does fine in daylight. Its plusses, it did dual sim very well and had a comparable signal to my Note. The screen is good and colours were fine. Build is fine, materials cheap as you would expect but no weird gaps or flex in the phone.
Forget about support. They promised monthly updates but following the release of the Paris, there has been nothing for the Be Touch 2, even the Be Touch 3 which is practically identical, with the same hardware and chassis, has seen updates where the Be Touch 2 has not.
Don't know about warranty, I've not called on it. I am skeptical about doubling the battery and having the added weight when poor quality cells or software will bump you back down to the life of a normal phone. There is little support for these on sites like XDA and in a short time, even less from the manufacturer themselves.
So it is a cheap phone and in some places, you will notice it. My advice, be wary of expecting a massive increase in battery life and there will be small niggles that could eventually wind you up. It is cheap and that is what you should expect.

Always wait for it to come on Amazon, purchase it if it's Amazon fulfilled. Then it is easy to make returns if anything goes wrong.

I wanted to ask the same as above. On paper these phones look great but they seem almost too Good to be true. I've not bought a phone in the last several years that I wasn't able to try out in my hands myself. I'm also concerned about warranty and ultimate resale value since I always trade or sell up before I move on to a new device

9 Jan 16#38
forget the resell unless ebay at at a massive loss they simply don't hold the value like known brands do even if looked after well, however considering these prices I consider them disposable purchases wil buy a new one play with it for 8 months or so then give to family or friend and buy another with latest spec, means you get to play with lots of new phones and features still for less than a traditional 24 month contract...works for me!

The poor battery life is probably due to bloatware and background apps or even the UI. I'm sure if you installed Nova or CM it would help.
For example I have a hudl2 and I found out that the Tesco pre-installed apps use a whopping 35% of the battery's charge. They got uninstalled!

Well, the Redmi Note 3 has a far better processor and the 32GB one also has 3GB RAM so I would imagine it wipes the foor with the Ulefone speed-wise. But in reality for everyday tasks both will be more than up to the job.

I helped a friend buy a Teclast X98 Air III which many folks were gushing over on a US deal site. So wouldn't that make the redmi note 3 (3/32gb) a much better deal if you can afford an extra 20, also from gearbest if you don't mind buying from them and spend ages waiting?

I have the Be Touch 3 (upgraded from Nexus 5) and I love it. The camera isn't perfect, but it runs all the apps I need. Has micro sd slot and removable battery. If I hadn't only had it for a month I'd be buying this. Like the idea of having IR for remotes too. I got mine from coolicool.

The trouble with these pre order deals apart from the wait for delivery, is any bugs that will need ironing out. Cannot remember which model off hand but one of these deals last year was inundated with preorders and to get them out, they were shipped with the notification lights not working. But nobody was told this and on people complaining they were offered avoucher off their next purchase.

From specs it's not gonna outperform the Redmi Note 3 (or 2) but it will be a more than capable device. Similar spec'd devices will score 35k ish on Antutu. And that battery life is gonna be great. Also has full 4G support unlike the Note 3.
If Gearbest don't do their occasional trick of having an order "Processing" for weeks they're OK - Use PayPal and if you get any problems let PayPal sort - That's always worked for refunds for me when Gearbest are being a**holes.

Yep, to be honest I'm massively impressed, everything just works right out of the box and it's very, very slick. The fingerprint sensor is cool e.g set one of 10 fingers to launch a camera app. The camera is very impressive too (one of the main reasons I bought this, good in low light) and phone feels nice and solid. So £120 for a phone that's better than most £3-400 "flagships". I'm a convert to Ulefone. Oh and the battery life!

It came with DHL so it had their own tracking. The "slower" methods the tracking is Awful and it's a waiting game.
I have to say it is huge, I'm going from a 5s so seems massive. My sim is too small so have got the convertors coming. It's been connected to wifi since 8am, not used and only lost 2% battery.

What is the battery life like moderate use ??
Roger_Irrelevant
10 Feb 161#93
Brilliant, it just lasts and lasts and lasts (But it will do, most smartphones have 2500-3000mAh batteries, this is ~6000mAh. With my old phone it was routine to charge it every night, with this you can forget about it for 2-3 days. And then when it does need charging, it can charge in 2 hours.
Roger. I'm new to android so struggling with it to be honest , is there any way to put he phone on silent completely with no vibrate at all?
What skin etc are you using on it? I found the wooden effect one it came with a tad rubbish lol, mine wasn't like the you tube video you posted.
Finding the move from IOS to android hard !!
Also what are you charging it with? I mean what plug, the adapter that came with it is massively dangerous if you unscrew it you will see what I mean.
Roger_Irrelevant to greenmachine12
22 Feb 16#97
You can turn vibrate off in the settings, then just use the volume keys to turn the sound down to minimum. Or I use an app called Llama that works out where you are (home/work etc.) based on what tower you're connected to so you can set rules e.g. turn off at work.
Skin? I just use the wooden effect one (does look and feel like wood, not plasticky) but with the supplied TPU clear case as well.
I use the supplied fast charger (i.e. the adapter and the US?/EU? charger) it's not the safest thing in the world if you just plug the adapter in to a UK mains socket, but if you treat it as one unit (i.e. adapter and charger, plug into UK plug) it's fine. There'll be a UK version soon no doubt when manufacturers catch up. It's great it charges from nearly empty to full in just over two hours.

Otherwise the specs do look pretty decent, plus an IR port.
For example I have a hudl2 and I found out that the Tesco pre-installed apps use a whopping 35% of the battery's charge. They got uninstalled!
anyway anyone know if we will get his with import duties on this?

Different screen
Different processor
Different Ram
Different camera/s
Different battery
Different Fingerprint Scanner (well non-existent)
All these difference's are negatives btw.
This was in regards to the model prior to this.

If you don,t mind a 2y contract, dilemma dilemma.....
If Gearbest don't do their occasional trick of having an order "Processing" for weeks they're OK - Use PayPal and if you get any problems let PayPal sort - That's always worked for refunds for me when Gearbest are being a**holes.
(may be only for first time buyers..)
Gonna order one for taking on holiday, as not fancying taking the iphone in case it gets stolen.

Man, if you track the shipment you even see a photo of it in the envelope! :stuck_out_tongue:
Going the slow route your less likely to be hit. Be interesting to see how long yours takes

Did it update to say arrived in UK etc?
I have to say it is huge, I'm going from a 5s so seems massive. My sim is too small so have got the convertors coming. It's been connected to wifi since 8am, not used and only lost 2% battery.
I'm not used to android so not overly sure what I'm doing, but does seem decent.
Plugged the phone from
0% into a Samsung 2amp charger and in 5 hours it's only up to 36%....
How's the actual phone?
Do you have a link to that Facebook comment? I can't really get an adapter they will work, a normal one doesn't seem to fit properly, and the new adapters where it makes it into a proper plug I feel they have a bit too much of the pin showing for my liking inside the plastic casing,
Has anyone got any ideas?
It's in there mate
if China how much did the customs pigs rob you?
Check this out for proof:
Ulefone Power (Battery Runtime Battle) vs. S6 Edge & LG G3
Icons I ditched the stock icons for Shimu and "Adam Iconpack".
For the background I use a live wallpaper called "Aquarium 3D" (it's on play store) my 18 month old loves looking at the swim fish about and when you prod them they swim off.
Love the phone but the only problem is the SD card seems to have stopped working (won't mount) hopefully the 6.0 update will fix.
One listed above is a stick on one , want one that fits
