Thanks to climate change I don't need cold weather protection. So I use wilko glass cleaner 75p for 750ml. Put 250ml in washer bottle and top up with water.
Another tip when using glass cleaner. Keep some kitchen towel in the boot. If your lights/side windows/mirrors or if a bird has dropped its load on car. Fold kitchen towel into 4 and put under windscreen wiper, then put washer on then you can use kitchen towel to clean what's needed.
The minus figures indicate at what temp the neat solution will freeze at. In the winter of 2010 I used the LIDL concentrate that had a crazy freeze temp of something like -30. To make sure I had no issues I used it neat. I spotted loads of people on the motorway that had frozen jets & had pulled over to sort. Mine did not freeze. So when the temp is below zero just use the stuff neat. Cost/benefit analysis makes it a no-brainer for me.

They usually are a bit late getting it in (I think its because they want the space for the Christmas stock). I would expect it to be on a pallet in the next couple of weeks.

The lidl stuff is good for minus 60 degrees and is brilliant at a fiver (not sure if its in stock yet though).

Yep, great stuff, can't be beaten. A lot of posters on here don't seem to understand what happens to screenwash when it gets really cold. I think places should be stopped from selling the really poor stuff in winter on safety grounds. Don't even think about diluting this for the next few months.

Been into lidl time and time again to see if they have any, been told they don't think they will be getting any this winter, last time I was in was two weeks ago. Your right, it is really good.

Did I not say 'positive'? That means 0C, 1C, 2C, ...
In fact the -15C one if diluted 1+3 freezes at -2C - like you quoted yourself. For the -8C one this temperature isn't specified, but it's dangerous to assume that it doesn't freeze even at -1C if diluted 1+3.

So If I dilute both to 20Litres each at what temperatures will they be usable?
grumbler
29 Dec 15#13
The main difference is the lowest temperature: -8C vs -15C
You can dilute the latter 3+1 to make it 6.67L for -10C
If you make 20L from either it'll be for positive temperatures only.

Not sure that's very concentrated then. Remember, with wind chill you need to stop the nozzles icing.

I don't understand what is the difference between both:
TRIPLE QX Concentrated Screenwash -8c (5 Litre) - Description says: The concentrated formula allows you to get up to 20litres from a single bottle, meaning excellent value for money!
Severe Winter Conditions = 100% (Freezing Point -15C)
Normal Winter Conditions = 75% (3 Parts Screenwash / 1 Part Water) (Estimated Freezing Point -10C)
Mild Winter Conditions = 50% (2 Parts Screenwash / 2 Parts Water) (Estimated Freezing Point -5c)
Summer Conditions = 25% (1 Part Screenwash / 3 Parts Water) (Estimated Freezing Point -2C)
So you can make 20l out of both. What is the difference?
grumbler
29 Dec 15#10
And even without the code it's £3.74/5L if diluted 3+1 to make it -10C
