2.99 is a great price if you actually WANT the album but not just to try. 99p is cheap enough to try almost anything...

Thanks for responding, I have checked and confirmed on all my Google accounts (3). I don't go in there often to be fair and I've noticed the log in has changed (now prompts you for card details to access account!).

Hi all, I know this may be a daft question, but does anyone on here have any experience of MP3 albums disappearing from their Google play accounts? I purchased Bob Marley’s legend album a year or so back and logged on over Christmas to download it….and its disappeared from my music library. Heat for the deal but I am reluctant to purchase any more tunes through this channel for fear of losing more albums.

Have a look in your google account emails to verify the purchase. Do you have more than 1 google account, is another family member logged in instead of you.

I also have a French play account and 99% of the time its a lot cheaper. They have the same £2.99 albums for €1.99 appx £1.47. Uk's latest albums are around £8.99 but €8.49 on FR making them £6.25 so as usual its rip off Britain.

I wonder if it's because the Chromecast came out and was giving people £20 credit. Personally I picked up a few of them expecting to spend a load over christmas. now I have £60 worth of credit on my google account but still refuse to pay £2.99 when I know they often sell them for less. Plus... I have a free trial of Play Music subscription so no real "need" to buy the albums anyway.

Yes it was a let down this year but they did do something prior to xmas. It was 1 free album a week and 3 99p albums a day or something but even they were rubbish.

No I mean for the past few Christmas periods they have like a 12 days of christmas with 3 new albums each day for 99p. I bought most of them during those years but at 3x the price I'm a bit more picky about what I'm buying.

Thanks for the time listing the albums but these have been on play for ages now.It still says " end of year sales" on play so they need a kick up the rear for the latest cheap releases.

Where were the 99p albums over Christmas??? So disappointed. They had them for the past few years and although £2.99 isn't bad, it's 3x the cost I was hoping for. I'll just wait it out I guess

So disappointed? Really? Think you need to get a grip, selling 99p albums is not a sustainable business model for either Google OR the artists. If you really like music you shouldn't mind paying a sensible price.
