In my opinion there is no finer coffee biscuits than the Biscoff Lotus Caramelised Biscuits, 20 packs of 2 for £1 at Poundland. Happy days

Agree they are very nice with a cup of coffee, but they sell them all the time not just Christmas so you can enjoy them all year.

Maybe the reason these taste 'burnt' is because they are caramel flavour ie toffee (which always tastes like burnt sugar to me)

Come on Lidl biscuits are far better than Tesco/Asda/Sainsbury/Morrisons basic/value ranges.

I feel sorry for the poor Tesco shopper who's desperate search for Oaties ended in disaster. If only they had gone to Aldi instead, their shelves are stacked with biscuits of a superior oatiness.

I find Aldi very hit and miss regarding quality but would be interested to know what these superior oatiness biscuits are called so can try a pack next time I visit a town with an Aldi. We only have a Lidl's here and in fairness their typical british type biscuits seem pretty much ok although they sell for more often than the basic/value brand versions in other supermarkets they are a quality match for.
You had to bring that up, didn't you Konk? You wouldn't let it lie.

I liked the bit where the staff conducted a desperate search. My hopes were raised but ultimately it turned out to be fruitless (or biscuitless). Still, the drama was good.

I've only tried these once from Poundland and I think that they had been overbaked - they had a slight burnt taste to them - perhaps this was just a one off though?
Stevet29 to Sophiasky
29 Dec 15#43
From memory they do taste a bit like that, but discount stores do take faulty batches etc so it is possible that they could have taken a batch of over cooked biscuits that the manufacturer couldn't sell to normal retailers.

Quite the emotional roller coaster. First the disappointment, then the refusal to adapt, then the act of desperation and then finally acceptance of the situation.

I once went to Tesco and found the Oaties out of stock. Not willing to pay three times the price for Knobhobs, I got one of the staff to check round the back, but alas they were all gone. I was forced to buy the branded one.
Thanks for reading my fascinating story.

They are always this price though, and have been for ages. Bought a few packs in the past, but if you try them next to a regular packet they just don't taste the same - like most cheaper versions of products in Poundland I don't believe they are quite the same recipe. Cheap though, can't deny that.
