Thanks, had a look but everything starting more expensive than sun holidays. Just booked regents bay for June. Can anyone advise if I should pay for the entertainment passes? Also, I upgraded as it was only £5 more a night. Does anyone know what kind of van I'll be upgraded to?

i managed to book butlins for £15 per person.they added booking fee.now they are asking for more.total coming to over £260. £9.50 holiday?wtf?

Because the break itself is 15pp.
Then you have to pay for bed linen, power supply and entertainment passes

I was excited if a Butlins holiday was even AVAILABLE for the dates I wanted , which it wasn't but I put a term time weekend date in ( as can travel home on Sunday evening ) and it was around £150 for just my Grandson and I for a basic self catering weekend holiday ... So I looked on the Butlins website itself and for £75 more I got half board dining with unlimited food and drink at breakfast and dinner for the both of us , a silver room , all linen , wifi AND meet and dance with DIVERSITY for my Grandson , which kind of swung it for me , so glad I had a look on their actual website for offers

I just booked on breakfree for October half term , there is an indoor pool and local attractions so should be a good one as we always usually enjoy these holidays including the dog

What are these cheap other sites you speak of?
NannyP
2 Mar 16 1 #159
I think you still need the unique codes with the sun plus subscription , you just get early access to book the holidays , am not going to bother any more myself but have had a couple of good holidays from them and there are other cheap holiday sites with no codes needed!

Am disappointed but am not surprised they have changed it now as it was meant to be an incentive to buy the newspaper ( which I don't do ) Even with the small payout to buy the paper for a couple of weeks it is still worth it but I don't get out to the shops every day and can't be arsked to set up a paper delivery with my local shop just for 2 weeks  It leaves us with the decision to forgo the hols if we choose not to buy the paper every day now which sadly I am going to do but am happy it lasted while it lasted!!

Can you still use the sun plus subscription? I'll maybe sign up for that

No, now the days of people selling them on ebay begin. Does anyone have any codes that they don't want? I was just about to book under the old form when it was pulled & we're trying to get to see family (they have nowhere for us to sleep) and the cost of a hotel is too much. I would be grateful for any replies ([email protected]). I can buy it from today but I didn't realise they were unique codes so never bothered.

I was about to book for morecambe in June but it's now expired however more tokens coming out tomorrow. Does that mean it'll have more spaces and dates? Hopefully June is available in the next lot and its not late summer/autumn.

Also what is the usual charges incurred? I didn't realise you paid for extras.

You're obviously going in peak season which is why it's more expensive. It does state through most of the booking process that extra charges are added. I go Butlins every year yes it's pricey but no where near as expensive as boring with Butlins also the whole funfair is included

Does anyone have any advice about not adding entertainment passes at Butlins Minehead? In the previous visits here I've never been given an entertainment pass so could we get away without them as I would rather have 80 quid extra to spend on my kids?!

Hello,
You will not be able to go to Amy shows without the passes and I've heard they now require the passes to even go swimming.
However, if you definitely do not want the passes you can call up and remove them once you receive the final bill/confirmation from butlins. Hope this helps

I went for Looe Bay in Cornwall. Only had standard caravan for dates i picked. Although from experience Im pretty sure these places often offer upgrades when they contact you direct. Anyone else found this to be the case?

i think that depends on how many of you are going, all you really get is a 12ft wide caravan instead of the standard 10ft wide, do you think you need the extra space?
personally i dont bother, i dont bother with linen or entertainment passes either as i go by myself and use it as a base for Sea Fishing, cheap n cheerfull

Does anyone know why I've been charged £20pp? I've read and reread the booklet and I can only see £9.50 or £15 holidays, also I was charged for a standard unit, there was no option to upgrade.

It's Ok, found the reason, £5 peak date supplement per person, still wondering if anyone had the option to upgrade though?

Hi

I've booked lots of sun holidays successfully BUT I've just this min managed to book a back to back of 3 and 4 nights break without collecting tokens and having to wait for booking lines to open using a breakfree holiday link!!

They have exactly the same parks and dates available for exactly the same prices!!! It's a live system so you can see immediately if the parks are available.

Have a look people and see what you think. And it's really easy. Just choose area and dates and how many people then shows parks available. To book with service charges, caravan upgraded and entertainment passes.
I've got Haven at Seashore Great Yarmouth for July 22nd!! Well happy.

Ha Ha. That's the only way they can sell the paper by offering cheap hols.

There's a group on Facebook always gave out the codes for free anyway. So you don't have to be stuck with halfheartedly buying this crap and then ending up with not enough tokens.
The holidays were never in half term time except a few which were snapped up. So useless exercise for many.

does it cover spring holidays for Sun+ members?

Thanks.

from their FAQ:

"When does the website open for booking?

The previous bookers’ site for the offer opens on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
The main booking site for the offer will open on Monday, January 18, 2016."

From that, i gather people who have booked previously with them get early access (24hrs) but not every Sun+ member (as not all Sun+ members have booked holidays before obviously). Further down in the FAQ it also states "If you have applied for a Sun Holiday within the last 2 years you are eligible to receive a Priority Application Brochure which will enable you to book as a priority customer."

As a sun perks member and booked these hols several times in last year or so unless things have changed you get priority access for 24 hours before token holders etc can book but im sure all the dates ive checked dont cover half term breaks I recall checking a couple of months ago.

For anyone who's school holidays have fallen strange like ours at Easter check how much it is direct. My children are off Good Friday and Easter Monday, then go back to school until 8th April along with quite a lot of schools in our area. We booked a week in a prestige caravan for £230 at Wales hafan y mor (was £200 with health service discounts reduction). This worked out cheaper than booking 2 sun holidays to run together in the basic model would have been x

Oh, OK thanks for that... I don't buy the paper, I just signed up for a "Premium Account" last summer. They take £15 or £20 each quarter I think... I only signed up as the REP on the phone told me I would get priority access when booking... That was in August so things might of changed a bit... I do have access to a "Premium Perks" section but ain't much on there.

it does day the following:

PREMIUM SUN MEMBERS CAN BOOK IMMEDIATELY!

If you've collected 15 codes, you just need to click 'BOOK NOW' to choose your favourite park as soon as booking opens on Sunday, January 17, 2016.

Can anyone confirm if you can book as far as the 6 week school holidays when bookings open in Jan?
(If not I can call them to check)

I think the Sun Plus members get priority and may even be able to choose dates during "6 week School Holiday"

That used to be the case but Sun+ membership has now changed, its no longer a monthly/quarterly fee, instead - you can gain access to Sun+ using codes from the newspaper, one code allows 24hr access to daily perks etc or 15 codes allows a months access to the full Sun+ site including competitions etc

Also, in the FAQ section it states:

"Do I need to collect tokens from the newspaper?

Yes, for the current offer you will need 10 tokens to complete your application. Tokens are being printed every day from Saturday, January 9 until Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in The Sun."
