I think it may work out slightly cheaper from their Irish website. http://www.xtra-vision.ie/The-Flash-The-Complete-First-Season/xv-movies-games-entertainment/pd/118717?path=Basket

Will have to take a second look as all the clips looked like films.

Never used Xtra-Vision before. I'd be tempted otherwise. How are they?

Ta OP, might consider getting this. As an adult with just a casual interest in marvel/DC, I personally prefer the other hero based series and especially thought daredevil was great, but Flash was great for watching with my young nephew as he's progressing from superhero cartoons (and the violence/morals in Flash are far more suitable for young children compared to some other hero series that sometimes revel in bloodlust by the hero and only showing consequences many episodes afterwards). Not sure if the Flash episodes that crossover with Arrow will make sense though if it doesn't contain those Arrow episodes too?

Anyone seen the tv adverts for Prime TV? It talks about films but in the different scenes there is definitely one clip of Oliver Queen pulling on his hood - what film is that from?
As for Flash I think its geared more to kids where Arrow is more adult. Both DC Universe tho so don't get hung up about unrealistic realism altho on occasion its been too far fetched and kinda spoils it ( Possible spoiler alert so eyes closed if you don't want to risk it - Like some one getting a sword through them, then falling off a mountain, left for dead semi naked in the freezing snow ).

Good deal, but the first season is available on Sky demand for free if you have the channel, in HD.:man:

The last episode of the Flash is one of the best endings to superhero season I have watched its fantasic how it all comes together my biggest criticism of flash is its length 23 episodes and several of them are a bit repetitive -and the love story just doesn't work I could fast forward through most of that. Harrison wells is a great character though its defo worth sticking with but I do like to poke holes in some of the story's and writing...Have you ever seen a lab look like Barrys???

I think this is steal. Though for the "fastest man alive" (which he obviously isn't), Barry seems to get hit an awful lot - wouldn't everything be in slo-mo (much like Peter Parker's Spidey Sense in the first Raimi Spiderman movie?). Despite some glaring flaws and plot-holes, the main Reverse Flash arc is superb - simply excellent villain.

Great first season it definitely got better as it went along agreed with the second season mainly setting up Legends of tomorrow so hopefully it will be back on track once Legends starts airing next week.

Marvels Daredevil, Agent Carter, Agents of SHIELD and Jessica Jones are the best superhero tv shows really. The others are boring and repetitive with the exception of Gotham and the new Lucifer (I find Tom Ellis amusing).

Giving up on it, they keep replacing red heads with black actors, must be a shortage of red heads or hair dye in the industry?
Arcade
Hawk Girl
Iris west
Wally West (probably Impulse too down the line, yeuck :disappointed: ).
etc
other than that the series is okay/good as an elseworlds thing, not a fan of one of the upcoming directors of an episode tho most are and the legends of tomorrow set up episode in season 2 with the arrow episode was one of the worst of the series so far. Suffers smallville syndrome -every one has powers because of one single thing and the few episodes that move away from that are only followed by episodes where a villain gets his powers from that one single thing again (in multiple worlds too, dang it).

is this worth persevering with? I gave up after a couple of episodes due to that awful v.o intro, and it all just seemed cheesy. Happy to be proven wrong though.

I think it's purposely cheesy, whereas The Arrow counterpart was more serious (although that has changed over the seasons).
If you're looking for serious a comic book series I would suggest DareDevil and Jessica Jones if haven't already seen them.

The intro changes slightly with certain episodes , stick with it. gets quite good with arrow crossovers ect.

Thanks, yep watched - and loved - both of those, particularly Daredevil which is, for me, one of the best series I've seen in a long time superhero or otherwise.

Really enjoyed this show. The current run is suffering second season syndrome, but I feel it doesn't help The Flash (or Arrow) that the CW are using it too much to setup the new show Legends of Tomorrow.

Best season of any TV show I've seen personally.
Has charm which Arrow, Daredevil and Jessica Jones lack because they're far more dark and serious which is why I love The Flash.

Great series if you read the comics, simple as that.. If not, a lot of little things might miss the mark for you.. Personally, it's one of my favourite shows on TV right now.
