These are far better than VHS. They are also better than the DVD versions. They are not great restorations of the calibre of Bridge Over The River Kwai or Lawrence of Arabia but then they are very cheap and perfectly watchable.
People were pretty disappointed with The Great Escape because it was sold as a special restoration when it was not.
Having said that I bought this set 2 years ago for about £12 and I am happy with it.

​Sorry, I meant to say they are poor transfers; I don't think they have properly done them yet. Think of it like the two attempts they had at Robocop, Predator etc. Great Escape only came out last year, so maybe next year you'll get "mastered in 4k" versions.

If you can't wait then get them; £1.50 per film is cheap if you haven't seen them since on vhs
