All packs marked up around the £3 mark, have been reduced from £9-11 for ages.
These are 230Lm so not as bright as the big boys but these are still rather good for 51.5p each. In practice they are brighter than my 35W halogens but not as bright as my 50W.
The warm white 250Lm 4W are scanning at £2.03 and the cool white 250Lm 4W are £3.03 both for a twin pack

since when LM230 = 5W. Gross misrepresentation

Still brighter than my 35W halogen and much less running costs, based on being on 5hrs a day I reckon 1 bulb will reduce annual costs from around £10 to £1.40 and it shouldn't need replacing anywhere near as often.

Thanks to OP.
Just swapped the warm white £2.03 ones in for 40W Halogens in a ceiling light - so much brighter and less heat output.
I've also used the LAP ones sold in screwfix to great effect in kitchen.
Just need to find some reasonable budget dimmable ones for downstairs - need 16.

As commented will not be very bright. I bought some 5w 520lm ones in toolstation, admittedly at £6 each but boy are they bright.

"I've just finished the first room. Unfortunately mine are all MR16 so payback will take a bit longer, but it definitely feels better on these long evenings. Plus they run cool too".
Interestingly my wife has complained of the kitchen feeling colder in the mornings. I am assuming this is due to there being 300 watts or so not being pumped out by the old lights!!

Are these 5W ones the dimmable model?
I bought a load of the 4W ones, they were reduced to £2.03 a pair, they seem plenty bright enough to me.

It was due to this offer at Homebase that I changed all the spots (24) in the house, including 8 x MR16's with transformers. Calculating the saving showed payback very quick, especially in my house where the wife has no comprehension of what light switch's are for!!
For instance, the kitchen is now only 32 watts (8 x 4 watts) instead of the orig 320 watts x at least 2 hours per day.
I can tell no discernible difference between the light.

230lm = dim

You would need a bank or two of them for a kitchen, with a pair in the ensuite they are not brilliant  but you can still see your zits to squeeze them, they are fab for outside lights

Dim and very high power consumption for only 230lm. You don't need state of the art LEDs to achieve higher than 400lm at 5W, which is probably the point where LED's price performance is ok.
Better off spending a bit more and go to Home Bargains.
