The first magazine issue from this Deagostini helmet collection comes with a 'free' 1:5 scale replica Darth Vader helmet for the very reasonable price of £1.99. I managed to find one (in pic) that now sits proudly on my desk. Great for a Star Wars or Vader fan. You should be able to find them in most decent news agents but I believe some let you order them in or you can simply subscribe to the whole collection through the Deagostini website and get various gifts with each delivery.

Issue 2 will contain Boba Fett for £4.99 then after that each issue will be £9.99. More information about it on the link below: https://www.deagostini.com/uk/collections/star-wars-helmets/

No clue sorry. Assume not that easy. Possibly better to find it offline if you only want one issue.

6 issues which if I am correct would cost you £46.94.Buying them online may be better value as you get various gifts.
I wont be collecting all of them but £1.99 for Vader is a bargain.

I think you're wrong. If you're going by the first six pictures in the carousel - there is an offer further down the web page talking about 'free shelving' with your 10th and 20th order and in the picture there is more helmets / heads.

60 issues, and the free gifts look to be dispacthed at on the 10th and 20th delivery
i was gonna subscribe and then cancel as soon as i get the free gifts but i would have to stay until the 20th delivery/issue

From their website FAQ
"How do I cancel my subscription?
You are free to cancel at any time, all we ask for is 28 days notice as we may have recently sent you a subscription delivery."
As the mag is published every two weeks then I think you cannot just subscribe and only get the first issue for £1.99. The minimum you could do is subscribe and just get the first two (£1.99 + £4.99). So it's really £7 for a Darth Vader & Boba Fett helmet (unless you just luck out in the newsagent of course).
Everything screams out not to do this. But they look so cool...

The complete collection has 60 helmets in total...this series was done around May last year and is being re-done due to Ep VII.

Sorry you are right. There are 20 helmets so you are talking about £186.8 approx. That's a lot of dosh.
Quite...it's a typical 'part-work'. Reel em in with a few cheap issues, then string it out for the next 2 years, with each issue becoming less and less interesting...remember those prequel characters with a sort of double ended buzzing (stop it!) weapon (seriously now!)? No? Well they get their own issue...probably ;-)
I'll still buy the first two though

No need to apologise it's not easy to spot I only twigged it as I read further on in the page - I always think these type of magazines are purposefully ambiguous in regards to how many will be sent out.

Can't believe that anything from Deagostini would be voted hot - jesus, if you carved the Star Wars logo into a dog turd, someone would buy it! For £600 you could buy some decent Star Wars memorabilia that would actually be worth something in years to come.

For the record I was only saying that the Darth Vader 1:5 helmet for £1.99 is a good deal. I have it and it's decent quality considering it came with a magazine.

It's a bit confusing as it says Issue 2 (Boba Fett) costs £4.99 but it also says when you subscribe, your first delivery costs £1.99 and it will contain 2 x magazines + 2 x helmets + tin poster. Presumably that's Darth Vader + Boba Fett. It also says they aim to send deliveries out every 30 days which gives you enough time to cancel. You don't get charged until after a delivery and you can opt to pay via direct debit which can be easily cancelled! If you were to receive a second delivery after cancelling the direct debit, I don't see why you couldn't just return it.

they definitely did do this last year as my gran very kindly bought the 1st 3 for me much to my wife's disgust
I'm 34 and do work around the house for her. as I won't accept money for doing stuff for my gran (obviously)
she bought something I couldn't refuse or returb

Yes, you are both right. It had a test run of 5-6issues to see what sales might be like. It happens a lot.
Should be easy to cancel either at newsagents or direct subscription.
They publish collection is 60, but if sales are good and enough interest, it will likely have that run extended.
Having looked at the magazine, if you have other Star Wars partworks, you probably have all the information.
With at least another four movies on the way already, they are unlikely to run out of helmets to sell to us.

I've always wandered - do these ever increase in value? I mean if you've spent £600 - ish, collected them all, kept them in pristine condition? Some old toys do, some Legos do - what about these "collectibles" ?

Yes I'm a subscriber to the Star Trek Starship collection, was originally advertised as 70 issues but has been extended twice and now will be at least 110. This will keep going for as long as people keep buying, just get more and more obscure characters

You could do what I do with the Batman automobile collection and just look at the website every now and just order back issues of the ones you want. I have no interest in the Batman comics, but I do for the films. I'll probably do the same for this series and just order online the odd interesting helmet.

From my understanding of the paperwork I got with the first issue I bought in WHSmiths, is if you subscribe you will get two issues together each month. So if you subscribed now you will get Boba Fett, C3P0 and the metal sign for £14.98. You can then cancel. I'm tempted to do this for the sign and Boba Fett.

I am collecting the whole lot I love star wars and although you may think the rest of the issues are expensive i don't they are great pieces of work. As many have said if you subscribe you do get some pretty amazing gifts free like binders, shelving units, a flash drive, a new hope poster on a tin plate which i am looking forward to receiving. I subscribed from the first issue vader which i love so much what a great sculpture, then issue 2 Boba Fett which is freaking awesome came with issue 3 C3PO free!! Looking forward to issue 4 Luke Skywalker x wing helmet next with my free A New Hope poster. I believe I get 2 helmets a month though I am not sure who is issue 5 yet i think its the bad ass storm trooper helmet or the biker scout! Also further down the line is the likes of Leia in Boussh Helmet, General Greivous, Lando Calrissian at Jabba's palace, Royal Guard, Jengo Fett, Kylo Ren, even some from the Clone wars tv series like Commander Cody,

The C3PO head is on the DeAgostini webshop for £8.99...has anyone seen it in the shops to see if it's £9.99 like it should be? If so, then cheaper to get it direct from DeAgostini (free UK P&P)...and then potentially cheaper than subscribing??
