its a brilliant phone, people don't rave on about it because its not the z5 premium with 4k screen, nor the normal flagship.it has the same specs and their nor al however for people who prefer a 5inch phone imo this Sony compact range is the best for android.

depends on how old the z1 is and how much wear you put it through. a phone over 2 year will have a degraded battery no matter which model.

Not sure, my Z1 compact is falling apart and the phone dies when it gets to 50%, do I trust another Sony phone?

I too had a delivery that was late. A short phone call, and it all got sorted, and I got £100 cash returned as an apology. Love JL

Parcel was undelivered, lost/stolen in transit. They just don't care if things go wrong, prepare yourself for a massive headache when it does. Customer services are a bunch a of school leavers who talk to you like you're beneath them. And this was my first experience.

JL and Currys are the worst companies around. Even Chinese companies surpass them in terms of service.

It's got a fingerprint sensor which makes securing the phone much more convenient.

Hmmm. I got my Z5 (not Compact) from eBay, BNIB, about a month ago for £410.
Not voting hot or cold either way, just be aware there's better deals out there

You realise people won't be buying this as a cheaper alternative to the full Z5? So the Z5 only being slightly more is irrelevant. People wanting a budget phone don't buy the Xperia Z Compact. The Xperia Z Compacts are for people who want about the only small phone that *isn't* budget.

Nearly 400 quid for a mid range spec. Both this and the Nexus 5x don't make any sense. Drop through price by £100 and that would be a hot deal.
I'm waiting to buy in from Rakuten. It's £399 on there with every colour available, but almost every week they have a 10-15% discount code and every couple of weeks they have 20-25% super points (which is almost the same as cash as long as there's other things you want to buy with the points) - plus around 6% TCB cashback. I've missed it a couple of times already when this could have been bought for effectively well under £300.

Anyone else thinks this phone looks super cheaply made? Great specs and I specially like the size of it, but the build quality looks like for some £50 chinese phone.

I have the Z2 and I agree it's awesome. But apart from a slightly better camera and processor in the Z5 I'm struggling to find any noticeable reason to upgrade. The Z5 premium has a 4k screen but again, the Z2 can record 4k video and then be watched on a much bigger 4k TV where you can really notice the difference. Better off saving some money and buying an older Z series model IMO but this is a good price.

Z2 is great, would be tempted to "upgrade" mine to a z5 if they had the magnetic charging port just to keep it current and in warranty.

Hot. Same price as Amazon but with 2 year warranty and corporation tax included.

Last year the Z3 Compact dropped a lot for a couple of weeks, in early Jan I think, but so far this seems cheapest for a flap free experience.
