I received my Cashback of £60 yesterday. I paid £185 in JL a few days after Christmas, so £125 for a lovely camera is a great deal to me.

Actually purchased two (still waiting for the other cashback claim to go through). One from John Lewis (and this is the one that I got the £60 from) and the other from Amazon.

Very interesting. I've just had a payment from "WORLDPAY AP LTD" which I'm presuming is Sony as I received an email from them saying
We are processing the payment of your cashback – it should reach your bank account
within 5 working days. The payment will come from Link Network or WorldPay.
The payment was for £60 and so it appears the amount it states on the Sony Cashback site is correct.

The vast difference in pricing is because this is now an older model, check out prices when it was released, you will find it was many times more than t is now. Each model in this line has improvement as far as I can see, perhaps not always for the better though. I have a lumix tz70 at the moment and still tempted with this model though, my only concern is no viewfinder.

The MK1 is also the smallest and lightest of them all. 5mm thinner and 50g lighter than the MK3. It's supprising when you pick them up but it is noticable and a plus imo.

Why would they be wanting to clear stock?! The camera is still in production. Just because we're now on MK4 it does not mean that that has taken over from all other versions. They each have their own unique features that makes each one different and therefore the vast differences in pricing between the versions.

Can't see the price coming down much below this myself. Until someone brings out something better.

And Amazon, even cheaper if you have student discount, still not sure though. It is how many years old now and in reality should be cheaper than this now to clear stock.

I bought an A7 before Christmas and they paid me within whatever the timeframe the cashback site set out, although I can't remember how long that was off the top of my head!

This is a great camera. Had it for a couple of years. Excellent image quality, and completely pocketable.

Wow that's a good price considering how well these hold their value. Yes it's the mk1 and we are currently on mk4 but this thing was so unique and ahead of the competition in many ways that it's still a very good camera now and that's why they hold their value. You'l be hard pressed to find something else so small with such strong image quality.
Sony have put out some really impressive cameras in the last few years. They have delayed replacing the A6000 for almost a year because there simply hasn't been any competition strong enough at the price point to necessitate it.

I know, that's why I got in touch with them to confirm the actual amount. I was going to buy the camera anyway and I've submitted the cashback request so I'll see what happens.

Seems strange that they updated the other models (RX100M3, RX10 & A7) to reflect that the double cashback is no longer in play, but forgot the RX100.

I used to have one never had any problems with it but mine was made in Japan, I believe the later ones are made in China.

Be careful though this model seems to be prone to the "stuck lens" problem. I have had two, both developed the same issue.

Still a great camera for £220. I got one last week and have been amazed at just how good it is, especially in low light. It does have an annoying default to 1/30 shutter speed which is too slow so I'm using it in the S (Shutter Speed) setting.
I reckon it's more for people that want to play around with settings though i.e. aperture, shutter speed etc.

They will. I managed to get this for £238.98 the other day as they price matched ukcamerastore.co.uk - I was going to post this deal but the very next day ukcamerastore.co.uk stopped selling it. Thankfully John Lewis looked before they sold out on their site.

Just so you know it is definitely £30 cashback and not £60. I contacted them the other week about this and they said:
In regards to your query, please note that the actual amount is 30GBP and the amount on the website is incorrect and will be updated shortly.
They're basically hopeless and still yet to update the site to reflect that the double-cashback is no longer in play.

It's not double cashback. It's double what it was previouis. The double cashback offer was an older offer. It may be a mistake but I would be suprised it was as it's on the main page.

It definitely states £60 on the site: shame Sony are messing us around. Still a fab camera, and £249 is best price out there, I think...

Yes, or they have just changed the cashback but not the details in the terms yet. When Sony added the double cash offer they did the same. The double cashback was listed first and the terms updated later if I remember. Still would pay to check.
Thanks, but for some reason I do not see any others. strange will try a different browser

I hope for the sake of others, that I am mistaken, and they get their extra £30. Fingers crossed the website display of £60 isn't the source of error.☺

It would pay to check with Sony but I am sure you will agree that it does clearly show £60 cashback. At this price I am tempted to buy one myself as they take amazing photographs.

Hi, you are looking at the previous Double cashback offer. This is listed on the main page as £60 cashback.
wizball
15 Jan 16#7
Thanks, but the terms and conditions lists it at £30, and the Claim Cashback form has an additional link (which does not work) for double claims, again starting the date range Nov-Dec. Hence, I am sceptical that anyone will get double cash back for this, but maybe they will get lucky.

Do you have any further info on the double cash back? Sony website appears to be saying that ran from November 19th to December 6th, but I am probably missing something, sorry.
